The character of the new light is a 360° fourth-order unattended group-flashing A.G.A. light, showing a double flash every sixteen seconds thus—
-8 seconds flash + 2 seconds eclipse + 8 seconds flash + 12-4 seconds eclipse.
The height of the focal plane from H.W.O.S. is 74 feet. Height of building from base to vane 83 feet 1 inch. Distance visible in clear weather, 14 miles. Charts affected, 440, 441, 905, 1250, 1,829, and 2,691.
N.B.—Mariners are particularly warned that from sunset on 22nd November, 1932, the new flashing light may not be visible in the vicinity of 010° (from seaward) for approximately two to five days, during which period sufficient of the top of the old tower will be removed in order not to obscure the light in this vicinity; it is not intended to demolish the whole structure.

BATIKI LIGHT.
MARINERS are hereby notified that an unattended flashing A.G.A. light has been installed on the north-west point of Batiki Island, known as Irene Point. This light will come into operation from sunset on the 22nd day of November, 1932. The position of this light is, Latitude 17° 46' 12" South; Longitude, 179° 08' 39" East. Height above H.W.O.S. 115 feet. Approximate arc of visibility from seaward 242° from 241° to 359° through south and east. Distance visible in clear weather, 16 miles. Height of building from base to vane, 21 feet 4 inches.
Character of this light is a fourth-order single-flashing A.G.A. light showing one flash every 4-5 seconds thus: -3 seconds flash + 4-2 seconds eclipse.
The lighthouse is a square concrete structure surmounted by an octagonal tower painted white. Charts affected, Nos. 440, 441, 741, 905, 1250, 1829, and 2691.
(1) SUVA HARBOUR.—LAMI BEACON.
MARINERS are hereby notified that from 20th October a temporary fixed white light will be exhibited, when required by overseas vessels, from the Lami Beacon platform situated in Suva Harbour on the southern end of the Lami Reef in Latitude 18° 07' 38" South, Longitude 178° 25' 05", for approximately twelve days, during which time alterations will be made to the existing beacon, after which an A.G.A. unattended light will be installed. The new light, which will be exhibited directly it is installed, will be an A.G.A. flashing light, showing one flash every 1-5 seconds, thus: -15 seconds flash + 1-35 seconds eclipse. Height of light from H.W.O.S. to focal plane will be 15 feet. Distance visible in clear weather, 4 miles.
Admiralty Charts affected: 1660 and 1757.
Approximate height of temporary light, 12' 5" from H.W.O.S.
(2) SUVA HARBOUR.—TAMAVUA BEACON.
Mariners are hereby notified that from 20th October a temporary fixed white light will be exhibited, when required for overseas vessels, from the Tamavua Beacon platform situated on a detached coral patch on the north-west side of Suva Harbour in Latitude 18° 07' 33" South, Longitude 178° 26' 03" East, for approximately twelve days, during which time alterations will be made to the existing beacon, after which an A.G.A. unattended light will be installed. The new light will be exhibited directly it is installed, and will be an A.G.A. flashing light, showing one flash every three seconds, thus: -3 seconds flash + 2-7 seconds eclipse. Height of light from H.W.O.S. to focal plane will be 16 feet. Distance visible in clear weather, 4 miles.
Admiralty Charts affected: 1660 and 1757.
Approximate height of temporary light, 12 feet.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Auckland Wholesale Grocery and Tobacco Merchants' Industrial Union of Employers, registered number 1135, situated at Auckland, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.
