  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—
    (a) Bookmakers.
    (b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents.
    (c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.
    (d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
    (e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Kurow Jockey Club were made and passed by such club on the 14th day of September, 1932, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

THE CALEDONIA KURANUI MOANATAIARI CONSOLIDATED GOLD MINING COMPANY, LIMITED.


IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.


In the matter of THE CALEDONIA KURANUI MOANATAIARI CONSOLIDATED GOLD MINING COMPANY, LIMITED.

At an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, Number 219, Victoria Arcade, Queen Street, Auckland, on Friday, the 19th day of August, 1932, the following resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company also duly convened and held at the same place on Monday, the 19th day of September, 1932, the same resolution was duly confirmed as a special resolution :—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at such last-mentioned meeting ALAN CLELAND WILKIN, of Auckland, Solicitor, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of the winding-up.

Notice is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between LEWIS FRIEND and JOHN DALLAS BRYAN, both of Dunedin, Mechanics, who carried on business at Dunedin under the style or firm of “Silver Fern Motor Repair Service,” has been dissolved as from the 27th day of August, 1932.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND AT WAITANGI IN CHATHAM ISLANDS COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF A ROAD.


Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land as required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Chatham Islands County Council, at Waitangi, and in the office of Messieurs Martin & Hurley, Solicitors, of Wellington, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Chatham Islands County Council, C/o Messieurs Martin & Hurley, Solicitors, of 162 Featherston Street, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the land required to be taken: 8 acres 1 rood 19 perches. Being portion of Kekerione IJ. Situated in Chatham Islands. Coloured on plan, red.

THE DUNEDIN AND SUBURBAN MUTUAL MONEY CLUB, LIMITED.


IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.


Notice is hereby given that, at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named club held on 22nd August, 1932, the following resolution was passed; and at a further extraordinary meeting held on 7th September, 1932, was duly confirmed :—

“That the Dunedin and Suburban Mutual Money Club, Limited, be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. GEORGE H. G. SMITH be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of the winding-up.”

TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL.


In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

Notice is hereby given that the Taihape Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the erection of a substation for the electrical-supply undertaking of the said Council—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Taihape Borough Council at Taihape, and is there open for inspection without fee during office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution if the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk, Taihape.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the piece of land required to be taken: 7·9 perches, being Lot 2 on deposited plan No. 2620, being part Section 1, Block XIX, situated in Township of Taihape. Coloured on plan green in outline.
