Appointment of Permit Officers for Purpose of issuing Permits for Camping-sites under the Provisions of Section 14, Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1926.

PURSUANT to the provisions of Regulation 14 (2) of the Taupo Trout-fishing Regulations, 1929, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

J. A. Asher, Proprietor, Tokaanu Hotel, Tokaanu and Tokaanu Fishing Lodge, Tongariro Bridge, Turangi,
W. C. Condon, Hatchery, Tokaanu,
P. A. Grace, Secretary, Tuwharetoa Trust Board, Tokaanu,
A. Kean, Conservator of Fish and Game, Rotorua,
S. A. McNamara, Ranger, Tokaanu,
G. F. Parsons, Hatchery-manager, Tokaanu,

Including Additional Land in Tuparoa Development Scheme.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette of 1931, page 720, of the Native Minister’s intention to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Waikohu A1 and other blocks, and known as the Tuparoa Development Scheme :

Now, therefore, I, the said Native Minister, do decide to apply the provisions of section 522 of the Native Land Act, 1931, to the additional land mentioned in the Schedule hereto as a part of such scheme, and hereby give notice of my intention accordingly.

No owner, except with the consent of the Native Minister, is entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of the development scheme.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Butchers’ Shops within the City of Palmerston North.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of butchers’ shops within the City of Palmerston North, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22 :

And whereas, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said city :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I do hereby direct that on and after the 12th day of September, 1932, all the said shops within the said city shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Subject to closing not later than 1 p.m. on the day observed as the statutory closing-day, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 5 p.m., with the following exception: On the working-day immediately preceding each of the following days—viz., New Year’s Day, Christmas Day, and Good Friday—the closing-hour shall be 6 p.m.

The notice dated the 11th June, 1919, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th June, 1919, fixing the closing-hours of butchers’ shops in the Borough of Palmerston North shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

And whereas, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said city :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I do hereby direct that on and after the 12th day of September, 1932, all the said shops within the said city shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., with the following exceptions: (1) If any shop is closed in any week on the whole of Saturday, then and in such case the closing-hour on Friday in such week for such shop shall be 9 p.m.; (2) in the evening of the working-day immediately preceding each of the following days—viz., Christmas Day and New Year’s Day—the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m.

The notice dated the 7th December, 1911, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th December, 1911, fixing the closing-hours of pork butchers’ shops in the Borough of Palmerston North shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.
