by the said section twenty, doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Corporation of the City of Dunedin for tree-planting purposes, subject to the special conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

(1) The Dunedin City Council shall, within six months of the date hereof, or within such extended period as the Commissioner of State Forests may decide, prepare a forest working-plan with respect to the said lands and such working plan shall fully specify the silvicultural operations proposed to be carried on.

(2) It shall not be lawful for the said Council to carry on such silvicultural operations unless and until such plan has been approved by the Commissioner of State Forests, and all such operations shall be carried on according to such plan as approved by the said Commissioner: Provided that no exotic trees shall be planted on the said lands at an elevation of more than 1,500 ft. above sea-level.

(3) Any officer of the State Forest Service shall have free access to the said lands at all times for the purpose of inspecting planting or other forestry operations.

(4) The said Council may dispose of, by private sale, tender, or auction, any timber, trees, tree-seeds, firewood, or other forest produce on or from the said lands.

(5) The public shall have free access to the said lands, but the said Council, subject to the approval of the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation, shall have power to make such by-laws as are considered reasonable for the protection of the said lands and the conduct of the public so frequenting the same.

MOUNT CARGILL.

Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 9-5 perches, being part of Section 48, Block VIII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District: Bounded towards the north by Section 60, 62-7 links; towards the south-east by Sections 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, Block VII, and a public road, 971-7, 1268-3, and 359-3 links; towards the south-west and north-west by other part of Section 48, 60-6, 341-4, 1250-2, and 955-4 links:

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L and S. 4/113A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 239 acres 3 roods 8 perches, more or less, and being Allotments 13 to 17, Stanley Estate; Allotments 21 and 22, Daisy Bank Estate, formerly Allotment 18, Stanley Estate; and Sections 24, 1 of 49, and 2 of 35, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District: Bounded towards the north-west by a public road, 3294-9 links; the crossing of a road; thence towards the west by Section 62, 934-5 links; towards the south by said Section 62, 585 links; towards the west by Section 1 of 25, 315-6 links; towards the north-west by Section 26, 2366-8 links; towards the north-east by Section 23, 4327-3 links; towards the south-east by a road-line 128 links, the crossing of a road; thence towards the north-west by Section 1 of 50, 909-9 links; thence towards the south-east by Section 5 of 49, and the crossing of a road 2500 links; thence towards the north-east by said Section 5 of 49 and part of Section 2 of 49, 1275 links; towards the south by Section 1 of 35, 2468-8 links; the crossing of a road; thence towards the north-east by a public road, 143-3 links; thence towards the south by Section 4 of 34, 300-5 links; the crossing of a road; thence again towards the south by a public road, 2976-7 links; and towards the south-west by a public road, 287-8 and 1571-2 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less, and excepting out of the above-described area Allotment 10, Kelvin Grove Estate, and roads marked A, B, C, D, E, coloured brown on plan, allowance for which has been made in the area. Warrant authorizing the Main Highways Board to construct a New Bridge over the Clutha River at Balclutha on the Dunedin-Invercargill Main Highway (together with Approaches thereto), and apportioning the Cost.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand do hereby authorize the Main Highways Board to construct the bridge (together with approaches thereto) described in the Schedule hereto; and I do also declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution as may be made thereto by the Government of New Zealand or the Main Highways Board, shall be borne by the Balclutha Borough Council, the Bruce County Council, and the Clutha County Council in the following proportions—viz.: The Balclutha Borough Council shall pay thirty-seven per centum, the Bruce County Council shall pay thirty-three per centum, and the Clutha County Council shall pay thirty per centum of such cost respectively; and I do further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Balclutha Borough Council, the Bruce County Council, and the Clutha County Council shall be paid from time to time out of the funds of the said Councils within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Main Highways Board, and all such payments shall be made to the credit of the Public Account and bank receipts sent to the Secretary, Main Highways Board, at Wellington.

And I do hereby revoke the Warrant dated the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 94, of the seventeenth day of the same month, authorizing the Main Highways Board to construct a new bridge over the Clutha River at Balclutha on the Dunedin Invercargill Main Highway (together with approaches thereto), and apportioning the cost.

SCHEDULE.

That bridge in the Otago Land District, over the Clutha River at Balclutha, on the Dunedin-Invercargill Main Highway (together with approaches thereto). As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 83949, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 5th day of September, 1932.
