REGULATIONS.

SUBJECT to the provisions of these regulations, sheep, lamb, or hog sausage-casings produced or prepared in the Dominion of Canada, the Commonwealth of Australia, or in any State in the United States of America other than the States of California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, or New Mexico may be imported into the Dominion at the ports of Auckland, Gisborne, Napier, New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Dunedin, or Bluff.

Subject to the next succeeding clause of these regulations, every shipment of casings must be accompanied by a declaration in the Form No. 1 in the First Schedule hereto, or to the like effect, signed by the owner, secretary, or manager of the premises where such casings were produced or prepared, declaring that such casings were derived from animals which received ante-mortem and post-mortem veterinary inspection at the time of slaughter, and were found to be healthy and suitable in every way for human consumption; that such casings are sound, healthful, wholesome, and otherwise fit for human consumption, and have not been treated with chemical preservatives or other foreign substances injurious to health, and that the said casings have been handled only in a sanitary manner and were not subjected to contagion prior to exportation.

In the case of every shipment of such casings as may by these regulations be imported into the Dominion from the United States of America, such declaration shall include a declaration that such casings were derived from animals which had not been domiciled in any of the States of California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, or New Mexico at any time during the period of six months immediately preceding the date of slaughter.

On every such declaration there shall be inscribed a certificate in the form No. 2 in the First Schedule hereto, signed by a Government Veterinarian, certifying that he has no reason to doubt the correctness of the above-mentioned declaration in any particular.

Notwithstanding that the foregoing provisions of these regulations have been complied with, no sausage-casings for introduction into the Dominion shall be landed in the Dominion without the written permit of an Inspector in the form or to the effect of the Second Schedule hereto.

If any sausage-casings are introduced or attempted to be introduced into the Dominion without the prescribed declaration or certificate, or otherwise contrary to these regulations, such casings may be seized by an Inspector, Officer of Customs, or a member of the Police Force, and shall thereupon be destroyed or otherwise dealt with as the Minister of Agriculture directs.
FIRST SCHEDULE.

The North-eastern and South-western Sides of Portions of the Richmond-Collingwood Main Highway, in the County of Takaka, exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 15th day of August, 1932.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in any-wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolutions passed by the Takaka County Council on the seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, the portions of roads affected by such resolutions being more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, viz. :
“ The Takaka County Council, being the local authority having control of the roads of the Takaka County, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the north-eastern side of the road marked A–B passing through Section 2 of 22, ‘Takaka District,’ Block X, Waitapu Survey District ”;
“ The Takaka County Council, being the local authority having control of the roads of the Takaka County, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the south-western side of road on north-eastern boundary of part Section 74, ‘Takaka District,’ Block III, Waitapu Survey District, marked A–B, and to the road on south-western side of part Section 72, ‘Takaka District,’ Block III, Waitapu Survey District, marked B–C, and to the north-eastern side of road on the south-western side of said part Section 72, marked D–E ”;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the north-eastern and south-western sides of the portions of the Richmond–Collingwood Main Highway (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-lines of the said portions of road.

The north-eastern side of all that portion of road, situated in the Nelson Land District, County of Takaka, known as the Richmond–Collingwood Main Highway, fronting Section 72, “Takaka District,” Block III, Waitapu Survey District : shown on plan marked P.W.D. 84267.
