Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.
District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be opened for selection in terms of the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Tuesday, 6th September, 1932.
The land may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, 8th September, 1932, but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hawke’s Bay County.—Maungaharuru Survey District.
(Native Land Settlement Account.)
(Exempt from the payment of rent or interest for three years.)
SECTION 1, Block VII: Area, 725 acres. Capital value, £1,400. Deposit on deferred payments, £70; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £43 4s. 6d. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £35.
After the first half-year’s rent (or the deposit on deferred payments, as the case may be) has been paid by the selector, no further instalments of rent (or such parts of the instalments on deferred payments as consist of interest) shall be payable for a period of three years.
The section is situated on the Mokamoka Road, nine miles from Tutira Post-office, five miles from Waikoau School, five miles and a half from Waikoau Railway-station, and forty-eight miles from Hastings, where a dairy factory and saleyards are situated. Access by good metalled road from Napier about thirty-five miles. Watered by permanent streams. Easy undulating country, portions of which are suitable for surface cultivation and establishing cow-grass clover. About 180 acres was bush land, but is now carrying a good sole of young English grass. Suitable for dairying on bush area and sheep-farming on balance.

Education Reserve in Wellington Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserves will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands Office, Wellington, on Tuesday, 23rd August, 1932, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
Pahiatua County.—Makuri Survey District.
SECTION 53, Block VIII: Area, 430 acres. Upset annual rental, £107 4s.
This section is situated ten miles from Pahiatua Railway-station, with frontage to Ngaturi–Aohanga Road, which is partly formed only. Access from Pahiatua Railway-station by metalled road to within two miles of section, thence by formed bridle-track.
The whole area has been felled and grassed, but fern is making its appearance over an area of approximately 100 acres. Soil is of a fair quality on clay and papa formation. Well watered by small stream.
Term of lease twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for further successive terms of twenty-one years. Possession will be given and taken on the day of sale.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Friday, 9th September, 1932.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 13th September, 1932, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.
Mackenzie County.—Opawa Survey District.—Macgregor Settlement.
Lot 17, D.P. 3326, Blocks XII and XVI: Area, 326 acres 2 roods 15 perches. Capital value, £2,452. Renewable lease, half-yearly rent, £61 6s.
Loaded with the sum of £410, for improvements comprising three-roomed wooden dwelling, iron and wood stable, chaff-house, washhouse; 125 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, and three dams, shelter-belts, &c.: such amount to be paid by deposit of £50, balance of £360 to be secured by instalment mortgage for a term of twenty years.
Situated about nine miles and a half from Cave Post-office and Railway-station by fair road gravelled to within one mile of the property, about three miles and a half from Cannington School, and about seventeen miles from Albury Saleyards. Altitude 950 ft. to 1,100 ft., and comprises undulating land broken by gullies with steep rough face at back of the farm. Soil is rather cold and sour on gravel and clay formation, and watered by springs and dams. Subdivided into ten paddocks, 20 acres being in young grass, 21 acres in stubble, 200 acres in old grass, 19 acres mixed turnips (being fed off), balance (gullies and creeks) in natural state. Property is suitable for sheep-grazing, but a few store cattle could be carried. Improvements included in the capital value of the land comprise 286 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, valued at £90.
