from the junction with the existing Great South Road at a
point approximately 24 chains south of the north-eastern
boundary of Subdivision 1 of Lot B, Mangatawhiri Parish
(D.P. 6559), and proceeding generally in a south-easterly
direction by way of the said deviation and a public street
known as Ford Street, in the Township of Pokeno, and
terminating at the junction of the said Ford Street and the
existing Great South Road in the Township of Pokeno.

Also all that deviation situate in the Franklin County
commencing from the junction with the existing Great South
Road approximately 2 chains south of the Railway Overbridge
in the Township of Pokeno, and proceeding generally in an
easterly and southerly direction, and terminating at the
junction with the existing Great South Road at approximately
1 chain north of the southernmost corner of Section 190,
Mangatawhiri Parish.

Classification of Portion of Gisborne-Opotiki, via Waioeka,
Main Highway.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me
by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy
Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates,
Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Main Highways
Board’s proposed classification of part of the Gisborne-
Opotiki, via Waioeka, Main Highway (being all that portion
of road in the Opotiki County commencing at the south-
eastern boundary of Section 2, Block IX, Moanui Survey District,
and proceeding generally in a north-westerly and northerly
direction, via Waiata, and terminating at its junction with
the Waioeka Road Main Highway, in Block XI, Opotiki
Survey District) in Class Four, available for the use thereon
of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy
motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not
more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle
which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than
6½ tons.

Classification of Roads in Waimate West County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me
by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy
Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates,
Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that the roads
described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Waimate
West County shall belong to the respective class of roads
shown in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
WAIMATE WEST COUNTY.

Roads classified in Class Three : Available for the use thereon
of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy
motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not
more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle
which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10
tons.

Roads.
Dingle, Glenn, Inaha, Kearin, Kokeri, Lower Auroa, Main
South, Maniaia, Mangawhero, Normanby (between Maniaia
and Inaha Roads), Oeo, Omuturangi, Palmer, Rama, Rowan,
Sutherland, Taikatu, Upper Auroa, Winks.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me
by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy
Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates,
Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Waimate
County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described
in the Schedule hereto, and situated in Waimate County.

WAIMATE COUNTY.

Roads classified in Class Three : Available for the use thereon
of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy
motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not
more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle
which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10
tons.

Main Highways.
Cave-Pareora (all that portion within Waimate County).
Deep Creek — Waihao Downs.
Main Otipua Road (all that portion within Waimate County).
Pictou-Bluff (all that portion within Waimate County).
Waimate — McMamara’s Corner.
Waimate-Makihiki, via Hunter.
Waimate-Sturdbolme.

Ashburton Borough Council.—Cancellation of Unexercised Loan Authority.

In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WHEREAS the Ashburton Borough Council has been
duly authorized to borrow by way of special loan the
sum of one thousand nine hundred and fifty-three pounds
for providing the Council’s proportion of the cost of con-
structing the Ashburton Traffic-bridge, and the consent of
the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said
loan was given by Order in Council made on the 14th day
of April, 1930, and published in the Gazette on the 17th day
of the same month, at page 1429 :

And whereas, in respect of the said sum of one thousand
nine hundred and fifty-three pounds, there has been raised
and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the sum of eleven
hundred and eighty pounds two shillings and sixpence, and
it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the
amount so authorized :

And whereas the Minister of Finance has duly notified the
Ashburton Borough Council in writing of his intention to
cancel the loan authority in so far as it has not been exercised :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf
conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1926, as amended by section 46 of the Finance Act, 1931
(No. 4), and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling,
I, William Downie Stewart, Minister of Finance, do hereby
cancel the authority of the Ashburton Borough Council to
borrow, under the loan authority hereinbefore referred to,
the sum of seven hundred and seventy-two pounds seventeen
shillings and sixpence, being the amount in respect of which
the said loan authority has not been exercised : Provided
always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity
in all respects of the loan of eleven hundred and eighty pounds
two shillings and sixpence already borrowed pursuant to the
said loan authority.
