Classification of Roads in Patea County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in Patea County, shall belong to the respective classes of roads shown in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

PATEA COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons.

Main Highways.

Auckland—Wellington (via Taranaki).
Mounahaki State Farm.
Waitotara Station.

Roads.

Ball (Upper and Lower).
Kaharoa.
Kakaramea.
Karahaiki.
Kohi.
Motoroa.
Okotuku.
Otanio.
Waverley Beach.

Road classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks VII and XII, Thames Survey District, for Road and Stream-diversion Purposes respectively.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the First Schedule hereto for the purposes of a road, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto for the purposes of a stream-diversion :

And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kopu, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Notifying Land in the Otago Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Department of Lands and Survey.

Wellington, 5th May, 1932.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned land, being the land known as Downs Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from the 1st February, 1932.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—DOWNS SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,879 acres 0 roods 33 poles, more or less, being Sections 1, 2, 16, 17, part 3, part 4, Block VII, Blackstone Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section 1, Block VII, Blackstone Survey District; towards the north by Sections 51, 46, 47, Crown land, a public road, and Section 48, Block II, St. Bathans Survey District, 20175·6 links; towards the east generally by a public road, 7075 links; towards the south by Section 15, Block VII, Blackstone Survey District, Crown land, and the crossing of a public road, 9013·5 links; towards the east by a public road, 6106·2 links; towards the south by Sections 5 and 6 and the crossing of a public road, 9890·1 links; towards the west by a public road and the crossing of a public road, 14773·7 links, to the point of commencement: and excepting from the above-described parcel of land two intersecting public roads, each 100 links wide, and an intersecting piece of Crown land 300 links wide, marked Sludge Channel, a deduction for all of which has been made from the area.

Also, all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,909 acres 2 roods 39 poles, more or less, being Sections 8, 10, 12, 13, 20, part 9, Block VII, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, part 5, Block X, Blackstone Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section 8, Block VII; thence towards the north generally by a public road, 5968·9 links; towards the north-east and north by Section 11, 1256·9 links and 576·1 links respectively; by the crossing of a public road, 102·5 links; towards the west generally by a public road, 4556·4 links; towards the north by Section 14 and Crown land, 6194·9 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 5574·4 links; towards the north by the crossing of a public road and Section 19, 5962 links; towards the east by Section 4, Block VIII, and the crossing of a public road, 4623·7 links; towards the east by said Section 12, Block X, 3620 links; towards the south-east generally by Crown land and five pieces of public road, 19138·3 links; towards the north-west by a public road, 13327·3 links, and the crossing of a public road 100 links wide; towards the south by the crossing of a public road, Section 4, Block X, and Crown land, 7556 links; towards the east by said Section 4, 5032·1 links; towards the south by Section 7, 1643·5 links; towards the east by said Section 7, 5283·8 links; towards the south by a public road, 3490·2 links; towards the east by the crossing of said public road and Section 10, 3260·2 links; towards the south-east and west generally by Crown land, 797·5 links and 3615·8 links; towards the south-west by Crown land, 4880·6 links; towards the west by Crown land and the crossing of a public road, 2259·1 links; towards the south by a public road, 280 links, and towards the west by a public road and the crossing of a public road, 11930 links; towards the north by Section 7, Block VII, 4938·4 links, and towards the west by said Section 7, 6629·1 links, to the point of commencement: and excluding from the above-described parcel of land an intersecting piece of Crown land 100 links wide, marked “Sludge Channel,” and five intersecting public roads each 100 links wide, a deduction for all of which has been made from the area.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are more particularly shown on the plan marked L. and S. 21/149/323, deposited, under No. 2517, in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
