Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 23rd May, 1932.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 13th June, 1932.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 14th June, 1932, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.
Waimate County.—Otago Survey District.—Finlay Downs Settlement.
SECTION 2, Block XIII: Area, 515 acres 3 roods 14 perches; capital value, £4,140. Half-yearly rent, £103 10s.
Loaded with the sum of £850, for improvements consisting of six-roomed dwelling and conveniences, wool-shed, and outbuildings, yards, sheep dip and pens, water ram, piping, and two tanks, and shelter-belts and orchard. Such amount to be paid by a cash deposit of £50, balance of £800 payable by twenty-eight half-yearly instalments of £40 8s. (including principal and interest).
Comprises one of the sections in the Finlay Downs Settlement, and is situated about ten miles and a half by fair gravelled road from Otago Railway-station and Post-office. The Kohika School is about three miles distant, and the St. Andrews Salcyards about twelve miles and a half distant. Cream-van passes.
Comprises undulating land, broken by creek-beds, and 900 ft. above sea-level. Property is subdivided into eleven paddocks, and is watered by creeks and water-holes. Condition of the land is as follows: 10 acres in new grass, 25 acres in oats stubble, 40 acres in turnips, 2 acres in orchard and homestead, balance in old pasture and gullies and creek-beds.
Property mainly suitable for sheep and green feed. Improvements that go with the section comprise 668 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, valued at £197 2s.
Special Condition.—After the payment of the required deposit of the first half-year’s rent £103 10s., cash payment on account of improvements £50, and lease fee £1 1s., total £154 11s., the successful applicant will be granted a remission of two years’ rent provided property is energetically improved to the satisfaction of the Land Board.
