APPOINTMENTS IN THE NEW ZEALAND DIVISION OF THE ROYAL NAVY.
Navy Office,
Wellington, 21st May, 1932.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments in the New
Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:
Paymaster Commander Richard Francis Durman, Royal
Navy, to H.M.S. “Diomede,” additional, to date 25th
March, 1932, and to that ship as Secretary to the Commodore
Commanding New Zealand Station and as Secretary to the
New Zealand Naval Board, vice Webster, to date 20th
May, 1932.
Surgeon Commander Walter Palmer Vicary, M.R.C.S.,
L.R.C.P., Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Diomede,” vice Bee,
to date 1st June, 1932, and as Squadron Medical Officer.
Surgeon Commander Allan Gordon Bee, L.R.C.P. and S.,
Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Philomel,” vice Vicary; to date
1st June, 1932.
Paymaster Lieutenant John Michael Hogan, Royal Navy,
to H.M.S. “Diomede,” additional, to date 25th March,
1932, and as Assistant Secretary to Commodore Commanding
New Zealand Station, vice Prophet, as from date
of taking over duties.
Paymaster Midshipman Peter Weekes, Royal Navy, to
H.M.S. “Diomede,” additional; to date 25th March, 1932,
and vice Evans from date of joining.
His Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by
section 9 of the Naval Defence Act, 1913, and its amendments,
has been pleased to authorize the retention in the New Zealand
Naval Forces of Paymaster Lieutenant Charles Edward
Joy, of H.M.S. “Diomede” (for duty in Navy Office, Wellington),
on the Active List of the New Zealand Naval Forces
until 9th January, 1935.

appointment in the Public Service:—
Arthur Edmund Crisp
to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I
of the Fisheries Act, 1908, as from the 18th day of May, 1932.

invested in the Common Fund.

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 48
of the Finance Act, 1932, I, William Downie Stewart,
Minister of Finance, do hereby give notice that the rate of
interest to be paid by the Public Trustee on moneys for
the time being invested in the Common Fund of the Public
Trust Office pursuant to section 16 of the Public Trust Office
Amendment Act, 1913, shall be—
(a) In respect of each sum of money so invested before the
1st day of May, 1932, a rate equal to ninety per
centum of the rate of interest payable in respect of
that sum according to the contract expressed or
implied between the Public Trustee and the principal
relating thereto. The rate of interest herein fixed
shall be payable as from the 1st day of April, 1932:
(b) In respect of each sum of money so invested on or after
the 1st day of May, 1932, a rate of four pounds per
centum per annum.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of
Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for C. Woodley,
Auckland.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
having reasonable ground for supposing that the
person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule
hereunder is engaged in a fraudulent undertaking, it is hereby
ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928,
that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be
issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person
(either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or
addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without
a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post
Office of New Zealand.
