As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 21/312/87, deposited under No. 2532, in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Rangitikei County Council.
CANCELLATION OF UNEXERCISED LOAN AUTHORITY.
In the matter of Section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Rangitikei County Council has been duly authorized to borrow by way of special loan the sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) for constructing a bridge on the Turakina River at Turakina, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loan was given by Order in Council made on the 13th day of January, 1928, and published in the Gazette on the 19th day of the same month at page 110:
And whereas in respect of the said sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) there has been raised and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the sum of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500):
And whereas the undertaking in respect of which the said loan was authorized has been completed, and it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the amount so authorized:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has duly notified the Rangitikei County Council in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authority in so far as it has not been exercised:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, George William Forbes, Acting Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Rangitikei County Council to borrow, under the loan authority hereinbefore referred to, the sum of five hundred pounds (£500), being the amount in respect of which the said loan authority has not been exercised:
Provided always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in all respects of the loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500) already borrowed pursuant to the said loan authority.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman, South Taranaki Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

SOUTH TARANAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of part of the South Taranaki Electric-power District (defined by a resolution of the Board on the 21st day of August, 1931, and described in a notice published in the Hawera Star newspaper in pursuance of subsection (3) (d) of section 3 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, on the 1st day of October, 1931, and in the loan proposal), taken on the 17th day of December, 1931, on the proposal of the South Taranaki Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £40,000 for a term of twenty-six years, and making provision for a sinking fund of £2 per centum per annum, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electric energy for the benefit of the said defined area, and for such purpose to do all or any of such things as the Board is empowered to do by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in particular, but without limiting in any way any of the aforesaid powers, to provide, erect, construct, and improve in the said defined area a system of electric distribution and reticulation and additions and extensions to the Board’s present system of electric distribution and reticulation, and to purchase general equipment, apparatus, appliances, plant, land, and easements, and to erect buildings and offices within or without the said defined area, and to make provision for financial assistance to consumers, and for trading purposes as provided by the said Act, and, in pursuance of the Local Legislation Act, 1931, section 31, to repay to credit of Power Fund moneys thereby authorized to be repaid in respect of advances for payment of the cost of an extension line to Patea.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 174. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 92. There were 18 informal votes.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for C. Kelly and W. H. Nugent, Sydney.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of either of the said persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to either of the said persons (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to either of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General under the River Boards Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the South Wairarapa River District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
