Education Reserve in Wellington Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 11th April, 1932.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, at 2.30 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, 18th May, 1932, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928; and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
Wanganui County.—Ngamatea Survey District.
SECTION IA, Block XIII: Area, 270 acres. Upset annual rental, £5.
This section is situated on the Te Komai Road, with access from Wanganui (forty miles distant) or from Raetihi (thirty-one miles). Of this access three miles is inferior bridle track, four miles formed clay road, balance being good metalled road.
The whole section is in bush, which is fairly dense and consists of tawa, beech, and rimu. All broken hilly country with steep faces. Soil is of a poor quality. Altitude 2,000 ft. above sea-level.
Unsuitable for selection as a separate holding. Suitable only for an adjoining owner.
Term of Lease: Twenty-one years from 1st July, 1932, with perpetual right of renewal for further successive terms of twenty-one years.
Form of lease may be perused and full particulars obtained from the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Land in the Wellington Land District for Sale or Selection.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 11th April, 1932.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be opened for selection in terms of the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o'clock p.m., on Monday, 23rd May, 1932.
The land in the First Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.
The land in the Second Schedule is available for selection on renewable lease only.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, at 10 o’clock a.m., on Wednesday, 25th May, 1932; but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
Waimarino County.—Whirinaki Survey District.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
(Exempt from the payment of rent and interest for three years.)
SECTION 10, Block III: Area, 474 acres. Unimproved value, £115. Capital value, £115. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Deferred payments: Half-yearly instalment, £3 11s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 6s.
Exempt from payment of rent and interest for a period of three years provided improvements to the value of the remissions are carried out during the exemption period.
Weighted with £558, for improvements consisting of felling, grassing, fencing, and dwelling 30 ft. by 30 ft. A cash deposit of £28 is required, the balance of purchase-money to be secured by instalment mortgage under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act for a term not exceeding thirty-six years and a half, interest 5 per cent. per annum to a discharged soldier or 5½ per cent. per annum to a civilian.
This section is situated in the Raetihi—Ohura Valley with frontage to that road. Access is from Raetihi Railway station by twenty-eight miles of metalled road and ten miles of formed dray road. Ruatiti School is ten miles distant, and Wade’s Landing eight miles. One mile and a half from Ruatiti Post-office.
Approximately 250 acres has been felled and grassed, but now reverting to second growth. Subdivided into four paddocks. Two acres have been stumped.
Soil consists of a light loam resting on sandstone and papa formation. Forest consists of rimu, matai, tawhero, and beech. Well watered. Altitude, 1,200 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Waimarino County.—Whirinaki Survey District.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
(Wanganui River Trust Endowment.)
SECTION 9, Blocks XV and XVI: Area, 1,675 acres. Capital value, £420. Half-yearly rent, £8 8s.
Weighted with £325, for improvements consisting of felling, grassing, and fencing, in favour of the Superintendent, State Advances. The whole amount owing may be secured on instalment mortgage for a term of thirty years, and bearing interest at 6 per cent. per annum.
Situated on the Murumuru Road, twenty-four miles from Raetihi by twenty miles of metalled road, two miles of formed dray road, and two miles of pack track. Murumuru School is seven miles distant.
Approximately 775 acres have been felled and grassed, but now reverting to fern and second growth; balance is in bush. Mainly steep, hilly country rising from an altitude of 1,000 ft. to 1,500 ft. above sea-level. Soil of a poor quality generally, resting on sandstone and papa formation. Well watered by permanent streams. Subdivided into three paddocks. No buildings.
