Placing Part of Patea River under Control of Stratford Borough Council.β€”(H.H. 114.)

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS, by section sixty-two of the Health Act, 1920, it is provided that the Governor-General may, if he thinks fit, in the interests of public health, by notice in the Gazette, place any specified watercourse, stream, lake, or other source of water-supply, or any specified portion thereof, under the control of any local authority for the purpose of preventing the pollution thereof, notwithstanding that it may not be within the district of that local authority, or on land belonging to that local authority :

And whereas the Stratford Borough Council is desirous of obtaining control of portion of the Patea River from which the borough water-supply is drawn in order more effectually to control sources of pollution of such supply :

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section sixty-two of the Health Act, 1920, do, by this notice, place all those portions of the Patea River and its tributaries lying above the intake of the Stratford Borough water-supply under the control of the Stratford Borough Council for the purpose of preventing the pollution thereof.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 10th day of March, 1932.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and one of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby rectify and declare that Daniel Seannell, being a person holding the office of District Public Trustee at Greymouth, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

As witness my hand this 10th day of March, 1932.

Appointment of Acting Chairman of District Licensing Authority for No. 6 Transport District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby appoint William Irvine Armstrong, Farmer, of Masterton, to be Acting Chairman of the District Licensing Authority for No. 6 Transport District, for the purposes of the said Act, during the absence from meetings of the Chairman, George Alexander Troup.
