Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fees, &c., Wanganui Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 30th day of June, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Wanganui Acclimatization District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of 12th March, 1925, at page 754, for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., grey duck and spoonbill duck or shoveller; and the period from the 1st day of June to the 31st day of July, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, and Australian quail; and the period from the 16th day of June to the 30th day of June, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., black swan—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Secretary of the Wanganui Acclimatization Society or any person authorized by such Secretary in that behalf is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

  2. The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed three head of cock pheasants, five head of black swan, and twenty head in all of grey duck and spoonbill duck.

  3. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset on each and every day during the open season.

  4. No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.

  5. No person shall use or cause to be used any motor-vehicle in connection with the taking or killing of imported game or native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any motor-vehicle for the purpose of travelling either generally or to or from a rendezvous.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 30th day of June, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Wellington Acclimatization District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of 12th March, 1925, at page 754, for the taking or killing of the following imported game and native game—viz., mallard duck, grey duck, and shoveller duck; and the period from the 1st day of June to the 31st day of July, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, and Australian quail; and the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of July, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., hares; and the period from the 16th day of June to the 30th day of June, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., black swan; and the period from the 2nd day of January to the 31st day of March, 1933 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., godwits—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game (including godwits) within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the Secretary of the Wellington Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such Secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

  2. The number of such imported and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed three head of cock pheasants, twenty head in all of mallard duck, grey duck, and shoveller duck, and five head of black swan.

  3. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset on each and every day during the open season.

  4. No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.

  5. No person shall use or cause to be used any motor-vehicle in connection with the taking or killing of imported game or native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any motor-vehicle for the purpose of travelling either generally or to or from a rendezvous.

  6. Nothing in this Warrant shall apply to hares in the Counties of Akito, Castlepoint, Masterton, Pahiatua, Featherston, and Wairarapa South, wherein these animals are not protected.

  7. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of July, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Westland Acclimatization District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of 12th March, 1925, at page 754, for the taking or killing of the following imported and native game—viz., Californian quail, Australian quail, mallard duck, grey duck, and black swan; and the period from the 2nd day of May to the 8th day of May, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in that part of the said district known as Wataroa, Cooks, and Karangarua River Flats, South Westland, for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., paradise duck—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Postmasters at Hokitika, Otira, Kumara, Rimu, Ross, Harihari, Weheka, and Waiho Gorge are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

  2. The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of grey duck, black swan, and paradise duck: Provided that not more than five head of paradise duck may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day.

  3. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset on each and every day during the open season.

  4. No five birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons), on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.

  5. No person shall use or cause to be used any motor-vehicle in connection with the taking or killing of imported game or native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any motor-vehicle for the purpose of travelling either generally or to or from a rendezvous.
