Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fees, &c., Stratford Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 31st day of July, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Stratford Acclimatization District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of 12th March, 1925, at page 752, for the taking or killing of the following imported game and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck, and black swan—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Postmasters at Stratford, Toko, Midhirst, Whangamomona, Ngaere, and Te Wera are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

2. The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of grey duck and black swan: Provided that not more than ten head of grey duck may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day.

3. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset on each and every day during the open season.

4. No live birds of any species may be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.

5. No person shall use or cause to be used any motor-vehicle in connection with the taking or killing of imported game or native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any motor-vehicle for the purpose of travelling either generally or to or from a rendezvous.

6. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of May to the 30th day of June, 1932 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Tauranga Acclimatization District, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 17, of 12th March, 1925, at page 753, for the taking or killing of the following imported and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck, spoonbill duck, and black swan; and the period from the 2nd day of January to the 31st day of March, 1933 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., godwits—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game, including godwits, within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the Postmasters at Tauranga, Katikati, Paengaroa, Maketu, and Te Puke are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

2. The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of grey duck, spoonbill duck, and black swan.

3. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset on each and every day during the open season.

CONDITIONS.

1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Postmasters at Te Araroa, Ruatorea, Kahukura, Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay, Waihiro Bay, Cape Runaway, and Hicks Bay are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

2. The number of such imported game and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of cock pheasants and grey duck: Provided that not more than ten head of grey duck may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day.

3. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset on each and every day during the open season.
