THE BUDGET LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the offices of Messieurs Brugh, Calvert, and Barrowclough, Solicitors, 30 Moray Place West, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 16th day of March, 1932, at 2.30 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of having a report laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up of the company has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

The liquidation of the company was consequent on the death of the late Mr. J. B. Smith, holder of a half interest therein. The business of the company is being carried on at the same premises by Mr. George Davis (owner of the other half interest) in conjunction with Mr. Payton, who has for many years been associated with the company. For this purpose a new company has been incorporated under the same name.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the abovementioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Kawakawa, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Stratford County Council resolves as follows :-

"That for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking funds, and other charges on the Matau Road Special Rating District Loan of £3,320 (1932), authorized to be raised under the abovementioned Act for the purpose of metalling the Matau and other roads in the Ngatimaru Riding, the said County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven and one-quarter pence in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Matau Road Special Rating District in the County of Stratford, as defined in the following Schedule :-

SCHEDULE.

"From a point commencing at south-eastern corner of Section 37, Block VI, Ngatimaru Survey District; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of Sections 32, 31, 30, 11, Block VI, and Sections 8, 24, 10, pt. 9, 20, pt. 13, Block II, Ngatimaru ; thence along southern boundaries of Sections 11 and 34 to the centre of Waitara River; thence along the centre of Waitara River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Upper Waitara; thence along this western boundary of Section 1, to the north-western corner; thence along northern boundary of Section 1 to the centre of Waitara River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block XVI, Upper Waitara; thence along western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block XVI; thence along western boundary of Section 9, to the Tirangi Road; thence south-easterly along northern side of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 11, Block XV; thence to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Section 11 to the confiscation-line; thence south-westerly along the confiscation-line to the Te Wera closed road; thence along the closed road to the middle of Section 41, Block VI, Ngatimaru to the Matau Road; thence along the Matau Road in a northerly direction to the southern boundary of Section 39; thence northerly through the middle of Section 39 to the commencing-point.

"That such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on lst February in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
