Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Dunedin City Council.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Dunedin City Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:-

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.


SCHEDULE.

EVANSDALE GLEN SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 30 acres 2 roods 37 perches, more or less, being Sections 88 and 89 and part of Sections 62 and 63, Block I, Waikouaiti Survey District. As the same is described in the Schedule to a Proclamation dated the 13th day of February, 1912, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 13, page 705, of the 15th day of February, 1912.

Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 12 acres 3 roods, being Section 96 (formerly part of Section 86), Block I, Waikouaiti Survey District. As the same is described in the Schedule to a Proclamation dated the 14th day of September, 1912, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 73, page 2732, of the 19th day of September, 1912.

SCHEDULE.

URURAKAU AND DUN MOUNTAIN SCENIC RESERVES.-NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTIONS 1 and 2, Block I, and 3 and 7, Block IV, Maungatapu Survey District : Area, 2,000 acres.

Also Section 58, Square 18, Block I, Maungatapu Survey District : Area, 291 acres.

Also all that area, containing 3,290 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks II, IV, V, and VII, Maungatapu Survey District : Bounded by a line commencing at the eastern corner of Section 6, Square 18, and running along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 6; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 2, Square 18, the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 4, and 3 of Square 18, and the south-western boundaries of said Sections 3 and 1, Square 18, and the southern boundaries of Section 1, Block IV, Maungatapu Survey District, to the south-western corner of the said Section 1 ; thence in an easterly direction along the top of a spur to Trig.-station D.A.; thence in a south-easterly direction along the top of a ridge to Trig. H (Rocks); thence generally in a north-easterly direction along the summit of the range through Trig.-station C (Dun Mountain) and Little Twin, to Trig.-station K.H. (Maungatapu); thence in a north-westerly direction by a straight line to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked L. and S. X/97/16B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

Nelson Henry Amos,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, at Bulls, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
