Portions of Kaipara Consolidation Scheme confirmed.
In the matter of Section 161 of the Native Land Act, 1931.
NOTICE is hereby given that a scheme of consolidation (in part) affecting Aoroa and other blocks, covering Series “E” and “F” of the Kaipara Consolidation Scheme, and dated the 21st day of February, 1932, having been prepared by the Native Land Court, and submitted under the seal of the said Court to the Native Minister for his approval, I, Apirana Turupa Ngata, as such Native Minister, being satisfied that the two portions of the scheme so submitted are just and equitable, and are in the public interest, do hereby confirm the portions of the said scheme of consolidation so submitted.

PURSUANT to the provisions in that behalf conferred upon me, I, Apirana Turupa Ngata, Native Minister, have decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 522 of the Native Land Act, 1931, to the lands set out in the Schedule hereunder, to be known as the Waikato Development Scheme, and hereby give notice of my intention to do so.
No owner, except with the consent of the Native Minister, is entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of the said development scheme.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for Messrs. Smith and Allan, Melbourne.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons whose names and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said persons, or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists’ Shops within the Borough of Tauranga.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ shops within the Borough of Tauranga, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., on Saturdays at 8.30 p.m., and on Sundays, except during the time from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the following exceptions: (1) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe, pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday shall be 8.30 p.m.; (2) on the working-day immediately preceding Anniversary Day, Anzac Day, or the King’s Birthday, when such day falls on a Saturday, the hour of closing shall be 8.30 p.m.; (3) on the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day the closing-hour shall be 10.30 p.m.; and (4) on New Year’s Day, 2nd January, Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the King’s Birthday, Labour Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day the closing-hour shall be 8 p.m.:
And whereas, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 29th day of February, 1932, all the chemists’ shops within the Borough of Tauranga shall be closed accordingly.
The notice dated the 29th March, 1911, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 30th March, 1911, fixing the closing-hours of chemists and druggists’ shops in the Borough of Tauranga is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

NOTES.—(1) Pursuant to section 21 (e) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, a chemist may keep his shop open (but only for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances) between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the statutory closing-day; (2) pursuant to section 35 (4) of the same Act, a chemist may supply medicines and surgical appliances that are urgently required on Sundays and on working-days outside the hours specified above, provided that the shop is opened for such purpose only and is closed immediately the sale is effected, and that the door of the shop is kept locked, except for the admission and exit of the customer.
Judges appointed to try Election Petition.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Electoral Act, 1927, I hereby nominate the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, K.C.M.G., and the Honourable John Ranken Reed, C.B.E., Judges of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, to be the Judges before whom shall take place the trial of the election petition following, that is to say:—
The petition of James Thomas Hogan, of the City of Wanganui, Commission Agent, against the return and election of Alexander Stuart as member of Parliament for the Electoral District of Rangitikei, praying that a scrutiny may be allowed of the votes given and tendered at the said election, and that it may be determined that the said Alexander Stuart was not duly elected or returned, and that his election was void, and that the petitioner, the said James Thomas Hogan, was duly elected and ought to have been returned.
