ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day of December, 1931.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments of that Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend, in the manner set forth in the First Schedule hereto, the regulations relating to training colleges, made by Orders in Council dated the thirteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, the thirteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, the twenty-second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, the thirteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, the thirteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and the twentieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one; and further doth hereby revoke the regulations relating to the examination and classification of teachers made by Orders in Council dated the thirteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, the ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, the eleventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, the second day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the twenty-third day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the fourteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, the twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, the tenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the thirteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, the fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, the ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the tenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the twelfth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, the twenty-second day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, the twenty-second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and the thirteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and substitute therefor the regulations set forth in the Second Schedule hereto; and, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

TRAINING COLLEGES.

THE regulations relating to training colleges made by Order in Council dated 13th December, 1926, and subsequently amended by further Orders in Council, are hereby further amended by revoking clause 15, and substituting therefor the following:β€”

  1. (1) An examination, to be called the Training College Entrance Examination, shall be held every year in the month of November.

(2) The examination shall be held at such convenient centres as the Director shall from year to year appoint.

(3) Every candidate for the examination must give notice of his wish to be examined, the notice being given on a form of application provided for that purpose and procurable at the office of any Education Board. The notice must be sent so as to reach the office of the Education Department, Wellington, not later than the 8th day of September next prior to the examination, and must be accompanied by a receipt for the payment of the amount of the entrance fee as hereinafter prescribed at some money-
