Bright Islet: Less Water reported Northward of.
Position: At a distance of 3·8 miles 352° from centre of the Islet. Lat. 10° 28′ South; long., 151° 13′ East.
Details: The s.s. “Aymeric” reports having touched bottom in the above position.

LIGHTHOUSE SERVICE.
NOTICE TO MARINERS, NO. 3 OF 1931.
Astronomical positions are approximate unless seconds are given. Bearings are True and in degrees from 000° (North) to 359° measured clockwise, and those relating to lights are from seaward. Visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only during thick or foggy weather. Elevation given is the height of focal plane above mean H.W. springs.
AUSTRALIA.—EAST COAST.—STRADBROKE ISLAND.
Point Lookout: Intended New Light.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that a group-flashing white light (U) will be established at Point Lookout on or about 9th February, 1932.
Position: On summit (260′). Lat. 27° 26′ S., long. 153° 33¾′ E., on Chart No. 1029.
Details:—
Character.—Group-flashing white (U) showing three flashes every fifteen seconds, thus: Flash, ½ sec.; eclipse 1 sec.; flash, ½ sec.; eclipse, 1 sec.; flash, ½ sec.; eclipse, 11½ sec.
Elevation: 260 ft.
Power: 3,000 candles.
Visibility: 23 miles.
Structure: Square concrete tower, 30 ft. in height.
Remarks: The light will be unwatched.
NOTE.—Further notice will be given when the light is established.

Position: On the north side of the entrance to Merbau River. Lat. 6° 40′ 40″ N., long. 100° 22′ 10″ E.
Abridged Description: F.W.R. 22 ft., 10 M.
Character: Fixed, with white and red sectors.
Elevation: 22 ft. (6m7).
Visibility: 10 miles.
Sectors: Red from 023° to 071°, white thence to 080°, red thence to 121°; obscured elsewhere.

Funafuti Atoll: Extension of Reef.
Position: Lat. 8° 27′ S., long. 179° 07′ E. (approximate).
Details: The reef at Te Afualiku Island is reported to extend further eastward. The pecked track leading in a 160° direction, between this island and Pava Island, is to be expunged, and the following note is to be inserted directly below “Te Ava i de Lape”: “Should only be used with great caution.”
