conferred on him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of one thousand one hundred and seventy-five pounds for a term not exceeding thirty-six and a half years, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of five pounds per centum per annum, subject to the condition that the said local authority shall, before borrowing the said sum or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and shall thereafter make to such sinking fund payments at intervals of not more than one year at a rate or rates which shall be not less than the rate of one pound per centum, such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said sum for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, and the first payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender is computed on any moneys so borrowed, and subject to the further condition that no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of loan-moneys.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising by the Pahiatua Borough Council of a Loan of £2,700 on the Instalment-repayment System and prescribing the Term and Rate of Interest in respect thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of December, 1931.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Pahiatua Borough Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”), has been authorized to borrow in respect of a loan to be known as “Mangatainoka River Bridge Loan, 1931,” the sum of two thousand seven hundred pounds, and the said sum has not yet been borrowed :
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, to the borrowing by the said local authority of the said loan, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate hereinafter mentioned :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and by sections thirty-two and one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of two thousand seven hundred pounds, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of five pounds ten shillings per centum per annum, upon terms of making the said loan, together with interest thereon, repayable by instalments extending over a period not exceeding twenty-five years.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £2,500 by the Taradale Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of December, 1931.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Taradale Town Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) is desirous of raising the sum of two thousand five hundred pounds pursuant to the provisions of section fifty-one of the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, by a loan to be known as “Earthquake Rehabilitation Loan, 1931, No. 1,” for the purpose of rebuilding the Town Hall :
And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under the said Act should be given to the raising of the said loan, on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of two thousand five hundred pounds, subject to the following conditions upon which the said loan may be so raised :—
(1) The term of the loan shall not exceed thirty years.
(2) The loan shall be free of interest for a period of five years from the date of the advance of the loan-moneys.
(3) The rate of interest thereafter payable shall be at such rate or rates as shall not produce to the lender a rate exceeding the rate of four pounds per centum per annum.
(4) The loan shall not be borrowed otherwise than on terms that the loan and the interest thereon shall be repaid by half-yearly instalments over a term of years (not exceeding twenty-five) calculated from the date on which interest first commences to accrue on any portion of the loan-moneys.

Portions of Roads in the County of Waimea exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of December, 1931.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in any-wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Waimea County Council on the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, the portions of roads affected by such resolution being more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, viz. :—
“That the Waimea County Council, being the local authority having control of the roads within the Waimea County, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the following roads—
-
That portion of the road known as the Riwaka South Branch Road where such road passes through Sections 27, 51, and 52, Block IX, Kaiteriteri Survey District, as shown on plan prepared by C. M. HoulT, Registered Surveyor, and coloured red thereon ;
-
The south-eastern side of the road along the northern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 11, Block I, Waimea Survey District, nor to the north-eastern side of the road along the south-western boundary of Lots 1 and 2 of Section 11, Block I, Waimea Survey District ;
-
(a) For a distance of 2545 links to the eastern side of the road along the south-western boundary of Section 200, Block II, Waimea Survey District, marked “A–B” on plan prepared by C. M. HoulT, Registered Surveyor, and coloured red thereon ;
(b) For a distance of 1545·5 links to the north-western side of the road along the south-eastern boundary of Section 200, Block II, Waimea Survey District, marked “C–D” on plan prepared by C. M. HoulT, Registered Surveyor, and coloured red thereon ;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the portions of roads (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-lines of the said portions of roads.
