Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Kawakawa Town Board.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of November, 1931.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for a rubbish-dump: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Kawakawa Town Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Kawakawa Town Board.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 27, Kawakawa Suburbs : Area, 2 acres 2 roods 29 perches.

Treaty of Peace Red Cross Order, 1931.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of November, 1931.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the Treaties of Peace Act, 1919, it is provided that the Governor-General may by Order in Council make all such provisions as may appear to him to be necessary for giving full effect to any of the provisions of the Treaty of Peace with Germany therein referred to :
And whereas by Article 25 of the said Treaty of Peace, being part of the Covenant of the League of Nations, the members of the League agreed to encourage and promote the establishment and co-operation of duly authorized voluntary national Red Cross organizations having as purposes the improvement of health, the prevention of disease, and the mitigation of suffering throughout the world:
And whereas it appears necessary for giving full effect in New Zealand to the terms of the said Article 25 to make the provisions hereinafter contained:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in pursuance of the authority conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby order as follows:-
- This Order may be cited as "The Treaty of Peace Red Cross Order, 1931."
- This Order shall come into force on the publication hereof in the Gazette.
- The Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any society is recognized as the National Red Cross Organization of New Zealand for the purposes of Article 25 of the Covenant of the League of Nations.
- Any such recognition may in the discretion of the Governor-General at any time by similar Proclamation be withdrawn.
- No Proclamation shall be issued in favour of any society until the Governor-General is satisfied in respect of the following matters :-
(i) That the society is a corporate body duly incorporated under the provisions of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908, or with the approval of the Minister of Internal Affairs, incorporated under some other statute or by some other means.
(ii) That the objects of the society include the improvement of health, the prevention of disease, and the mitigation of suffering as well in time of peace as in time of war.
(iii) That sufficient provision is made by the society for the extension of its activities throughout the Dominion of New Zealand and its dependencies.
(iv) That membership of the society is open, upon payment of a reasonable subscription, to all reputable citizens of New Zealand, irrespective of sex, politics, or religion.
(v) That if the words โRed Crossโ are used as part of the name of the society authority for such use of the said words has been duly obtained from the Minister of Defence pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom the Short Title of which is the Geneva Convention Act, 1911, and to an Order of His Majesty in Council made on the 12th day of August, 1913, and to be cited as the Geneva Convention Act 1911 (New Zealand) Order in Council, 1913.
(vi) That the constitution and rules of the society have been approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs.
(vii) That the constitution and rules of the society contain a provision to the effect that no alteration thereof shall have any effect until the approval in writing thereto has been given of the Minister of Internal Affairs. - The issue of any Proclamation under this Order shall be sufficient evidence that the Governor-General is satisfied as to the several matters of which by the last preceding clause hereof he is required to be satisfied.

Vesting a Reserve in the Waimakariri River Trust.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of November, 1931.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for river-protection purposes : And whereas it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Waimakariri River Trust:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the ninth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Waimakariri River Trust, in trust, for river-protection purposes.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVE 4286, Block III, Christchurch Survey District : Area, 4 acres 2 roods 15 perches.

WHEREAS the land described in the First Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for recreation purposes : And whereas the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto have been duly set apart for gravel purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the reserve described in the First Schedule hereto in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Waihi, and to vest the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Egmont:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
