  1. LOCAL RATES AND REGULATIONS.

Except as hereinafter provided, luggage, parcels, &c., will be conveyed at the rates, and subject to the general regulations, specified in the preceding provisions of this scale of charges respecting luggage, parcels, &c.

THROUGH BOOKING TO PORTS ON THE KAIPARA.

  1. Parcels, &c., booked through between stations on the North Island main line and branches and ports on the Kaipara will be charged at the following rates for conveyance by steamer, in addition to the railway rates and charges to or from Helensville as specified in this scale of charges.

To or from Dargaville,
Naumai, Mangawhare,
Turiwhiri, Aratapu, Mititai, Arapohue, Brad-ley's Landing, Horehore,
Rope's Wharf, Te Kopuru, Tatarariki, Toka-toka, Tikinui, Raupo,

To or from Slade's Wharf,
Williams Wharf,
Vineries, Hoanga South,
Harding's Wharf, Tango-wahine, Hoanga North,
Kohuroa, O'Shea's Wharf, Mangarata, Mapuna, Pukehuia, Allen's Wharf, Kirikopuni, Tangiteroria.

Charge for all parcels up to 1½ cwt.

  1. All charges on parcels, &c., consigned to ports on the Kaipara, or from ports on the Kaipara to stations on the North Island main line and branches where no Stationmaster is in charge, must be prepaid. 3. These charges are exclusive of the cost of transhipment and delivery on the Dargaville-Tangiteroria service. 4. The Department is not responsible for steamer services, and is not answerable for their fulfilment.

THROUGH BOOKING, NORTH ISLAND MAIN LINE AND BRANCHES AND PORTS ON THE MANUKAU HARBOUR.

  1. Parcels, &c., booked through between stations on the North Island main line and branches and ports on the Manukau Harbour will be charged at the following rates for conveyance by steamer, in addition to the railway rates and charges to or from Onehunga Wharf as specified in this scale of charges:—

Minimum charge, except for parcels, 1s.

  1. All charges on parcels, &c., consigned to ports on the Manukau Harbour, or from ports on the Manukau Harbour to stations on the North Island main line and branches where no Stationmaster is in charge, must be prepaid. 7. WESTPORT SECTION.

  1. Parcels between stations on the main line (Waimangarca Junction excepted) and stations on the Waimangaroa Branch line will be charged 3d. per parcel, in addition to the ordinary parcel rates.

THROUGH BOOKING.—SOUTH ISLAND MAIN LINE AND BRANCHES.

Parcels conveyed between Christchurch and Kaikoura will be charged at the following rates:—

These rates also apply to parcels ordinarily charged at quarter or half rate; in the case of parcels charged rate and a quarter, rate and a half, or double rate as the case may be, the charges specified above are to be similarly increased. New-Zealand-grown fresh fruit (Regulation 56) will be charged at the rate of 1s. 6d. per 56 lb.

On consignments to Christchurch the terminal charges as provided in paragraph 3, Regulation 55, will be additional.
