In the matter of Section 6 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1923.
NOTICE is hereby given that a scheme of consolidation, in part, dated the 16th day of December, 1930, dealing with Ahikouka 1c and other blocks, as set out in the said scheme, having been prepared by the Native Land Court in accordance with the above-mentioned Act, and submitted under the seal of that said Court to the Native Minister for his approval, I, Apirana Turupa Ngata, as such Native Minister, being satisfied that the scheme so submitted is just and equitable and is in the public interest, do hereby confirm the portion of the said scheme of consolidation which was so submitted on the 16th day of December, 1930.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIV, Waimea Survey District, for the Purposes of a Quarry.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a quarry :
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Arahura, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Devonport Borough Council.—Cancellation of Unexercised Loan Authority.
In the matter of Section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Devonport Borough Council has been duly authorized to borrow by way of loan the sum of two thousand pounds (£2,000) for the installation of fire alarms, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council thereto was given by Order in Council made on the 20th day of April, 1926, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 27, of 6th May, 1926, at page 1215 :
And whereas in respect of the said sum of two thousand pounds (£2,000) there has been raised and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the sum of one thousand eight hundred pounds (£1,800) :
And whereas the undertaking in respect of which the said loan was authorized has been completed, and it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the amount so authorized :
And whereas the Minister of Finance has duly notified the Devonport Borough Council in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authority in so far as it has not been exercised :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, Sydney George Smith, for Minister of Finance, do hereby cancel the authority of the Devonport Borough Council to borrow, under the loan authority hereinbefore referred to, the sum of two hundred pounds (£200), being the amount in respect of which the said loan authority has not been exercised :
Provided always that this cancellation is without prejudice to the validity in all respects of the loan of one thousand eight hundred pounds (£1,800) already borrowed pursuant to the said loan authority.

Position : Lat. 39° 03′ S., long. 174° 03′ E.
Abridged description : Fl. G. ev. 3 secs. 48 ft. 2 M. [U].
Alteration : The light on the end of the Breakwater has been altered from flashing white every three seconds to flashing green every three seconds, thus: Flash, 0·3 sec.; eclipse, 2·7 sec.
Remarks : The visibility has been decreased to about 2½ miles.

Lyttelton Harbour : Fog-signal established.
Position : End of eastern breakwater at harbour entrance.
Abridged description : Bell.
Description : An electrically operated bell ringing continuously every twenty seconds, thus: Bell, 5 sec.; silence, 15 sec.
Remarks : The sound will be muffled in the Inner Harbour between the bearings 170° and 286°.
