IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above company, held on the 6th day of October, 1931, the following resolution was passed:

"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up same, and that Mr. W. J. RODGER, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up."

"That it has been proved to our satisfaction that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that REGINALD CROOKS, Practising Accountant of Messrs. John Reid and Sons, Liverpool Street, Dunedin, be, and he is hereby, appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up."

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE OF 3/20D. IN THE POUND.
Earthquake Repairs and Reconstruction Loan, 1931 (No. 1), £11,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and the Hawke's Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

For the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £11,000, authorized to be raised under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of repairing damage caused by the earthquake to the following borough buildings and works:

Repairs to-
Cottage, Cornwall Park; waterworks; sewerage works;
Roads; squeegeeing surfaces; footpaths;
Assembly Hall, reconstruction, fittings, furniture;
Electrical, reticulation, power-station;
Destructor chimney; extra services; removal of debris;
Water, &c.;
Proportion of cost of traffic-bridge, Havelock North;
on the following terms:-

(1) That the term for which the loan is borrowed shall not exceed twenty-five (25) years.
(2) That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said loan shall not exceed four pounds (£4) per centum per annum after the expiration of the first five (5) years of the currency of the loan. During the said first five (5) years the loan shall be free of interest.
(3) The loan shall be borrowed on terms requiring repayment thereof by equal aggregate half-yearly instalments of principal and interest over the last twenty (20) years of the currency of the loan.
(4) That the buildings shall be constructed with due compliance to the requirements of the Public Works Department as to earthquake-resisting qualities.

The aforesaid Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-twentieths (3/20ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, on all rateable property in the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole of the said borough, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the last twenty (20) years of the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years; and that such special rate shall be paid annually on the 1st day of August in each and every year, during the said period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed this 8th day of October, 1931, as provided by sections 21 and 71 (c) of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE OF 1/10D. IN THE POUND.
Special Loan £1,000, 1931—To make Grants for the Erection of Temporary Buildings for Business Purposes.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and the Hawke's Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised under the above-mentioned Acts, to be expended in making grants for the erection of temporary buildings for business purposes, the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound, on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, on all rateable property in the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole of the said borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of two years or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed this eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as provided by sections 21 and 71 (c) of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.
