NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of section 188 (3) of the Mining Act, 1926, that unless sufficient cause be shown to the contrary within three months from the date hereof, the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereto will be struck off the Register.

AT the examination of candidates for registration as a surveyor held in September, 1931, under the Surveyors’ Registration Act, 1928, and conducted by the Federated Surveyors’ Boards of Australia and New Zealand, twenty-six candidates presented themselves in New Zealand. Settlement Land in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 13th October, 1931.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction for cash or on deferred payments at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Monday, 16th November, 1931, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Taieri County.—Janefield Settlement.
SECTION 27: Area, 10 acres. Capital value, £800. Deposit on deferred payments, £70; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £23 14s. 6d.
Improvements included in price of land comprise dwelling, washhouse, coal-shed, loft, and hut, and iron shed.
The section is situated on the Janefield–Mosgiel Road, and is about one mile and a half from Mosgiel Post-office, one mile from Mosgiel School, one mile and a half from Wingatui Railway-station; twelve miles distant from Dunedin by good road. The section is watered by the Borough of Mosgiel water-supply, and the soil is very rich and productive, resting on a clay and gravel formation. The section is all flat land, and capable of intense cultivation.

Education Reserve in Southland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Monday, the 16th November, 1931, at 11 o’clock a.m. under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Township of Ohai Extension No. 9.
SECTION 8: Area, 3 roods 7 perches. Upset annual rental, £2 10s. Weighted with £100 for improvements.
The section is situated close to the Ohai Railway-siding.
NOTE.—Special conditions apply to this lease, which confers surface rights only, and reserves to the lessor all minerals and the right to work same.
