Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XI, Waiau Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waiau, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 17·4 perches.

Being portion of Section 345, Square 85, Amuri.

Situated in Block XI, Waiau Survey District (Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 903/157.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 80842, deposited in the office of the Minister of Pubic Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Minister of Lands, it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Okiwi, affecting part Section 19 of Square 91, in Block X, Wangamoa Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Whetu, Turi, Old Mill, Harbour View Roads, Orchard Lane, and Stoneways shown therein should be of the width of 66 ft.

Now, therefore, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of Whetu, Turi, Old Mill Roads, and Orchard Lane of a width of not less than 50 ft. and of Harbour View Road and Stoneways of a width of not less than 40 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Auckland was taken on the 30th day of September, 1931, on the proposal of the Auckland City Council to borrow the sum of £50,000 for the purpose of providing drainage in the Tamaki District of the City of Auckland. The numbers of votes recorded for and against the proposal were as follows :-
