Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.-TOWN LAND.
Kowai County.-Teviotdale Survey District.
PART R.S. 587, Block IX: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £10.

Opening Land in North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say :-

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the price specified in the said Schedule, and for the purposes of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1924, the said land shall be deemed to be "scrub land."

The said land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

After the first half-year's rent (or the deposit on deferred payments, as the case may be) has been paid by the selector, the further instalments of rent (or such parts of the instalments on deferred payments as consist of interest) payable by him for the period specified in the Schedule hereto, shall not be demanded : Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Whangarei County.-Ruakaka Parish.
(Exempt from the payment of rent or interest for two years.)
ALLOTMENT 84 : Area, 146 acres 1 rood 35 perches. Capital value, £90. Deposit on deferred payments, £5 ; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £2 15s. 3d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £1 16s.

Warrant vesting the Control of the Matarawa Bridge over the Wairohine River in the Wairarapa South County Council, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the Matarawa Bridge over the Waiohine River (described in the Schedule hereto) shall, on and after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Wairarapa South County Council :
And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers aforesaid, I do hereby fix and determine that the cost of maintaining the said bridge shall be borne by the Wairarapa South County Council, the Greytown Borough Council, and the Featherston County Council in the following proportions-viz., the Wairarapa South County Council shall bear fifty per centum, the Greytown Borough Council shall bear twenty-five per centum, and the Featherston County Council shall bear twenty-five per centum of such cost respectively; and I do also further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Greytown Borough Council and the Featherston County Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Councils within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Wairarapa South County Council, and that such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Wairarapa South County Council for and on behalf of the Greytown Borough Council and the Featherston County Council:
And I do hereby revoke the Warrant dated the twelfth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and four, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 93, of the seventeenth day of the same month, vesting control of the Matarawa Bridge over the Waiohine River in the Wairarapa South County Council and apportioning the cost of maintenance.
SCHEDULE.
THAT bridge in the Wellington Land District over the Waiohine River known as Matarawa Bridge, situated on the boundary between the Wairarapa South County and the Featherston County. As the site of the said bridge is shown on the plan marked P.W.D. 81985, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of September, 1931.

Member of Island Council of Mangaia, Cook Islands, appointed.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to the authority vested in me by section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an Order in Council of the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, establishing (inter alia) an Island Council for the Island of Mangaia, in the Cook Islands, and determining the constitution thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint
Peraua, of the district of Ivirua,
to be a member of the said Island Council of Mangaia, in lieu of Tangi Vaipo (deceased), to hold office during my pleasure as from the date hereof.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, this 16th day of September, 1931.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 35 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, the undermentioned person has been appointed a Ranger under and for the purposes of that Act for the Southland Acclimatization District.
