Amending Order in Council prescribing Fees to be paid for the Inspection of Machinery and Boilers.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of January, 1931.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE E. A. RANSOM, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the twentieth day of the same month, at page 3602, fees to be paid for the inspection of machinery and boilers were prescribed as shown in the Schedule to the said Order in Council:
And whereas it is expedient to amend the said Order in Council in the manner hereinafter prescribed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section twenty-nine of the Inspection of Machinery Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulation; and doth hereby order and declare that the said regulation shall come into force on the publication thereof in the Gazette.
REGULATION.
The Schedule to the Order in Council of the 17th day of December, 1928, is hereby amended by adding the following provisos thereto:

Provided, further, that in the case of any tractor driven by mechanical power other than steam and used for the purpose of transmitting power to stationary machinery, the fee for the inspection of such tractor shall be ... 7 6 5 0
Provided, further, that in any case where, in order to meet the convenience of the Marine Department, the certificate granted is of less duration than the maximum period allowed by law, the Secretary may allow a rebate of a proportional part of the prescribed inspection fee.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Nelson of a Width of less than 66 ft., but not less than 40 ft., subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Nelson City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto of a width of less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land edged green on the plan referred to in the Schedule hereto within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said street.
SCHEDULE.
THAT proposed street in the Nelson Land District, City of Nelson, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 11 perches, more or less, being part Section 900, City of Nelson. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 80730, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Authorizing the Acquisition of Native Land notwithstanding the Provisions as to Limitation of Area.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of January, 1931.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE E. A. RANSOM, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1927, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Order in Council, in any case in which he deems it expedient in the public interest so to do, authorize any acquisition, alienation, or disposition of any land, or any interest therein, notwithstanding the statutory provisions therein referred to:
And whereas it appears expedient to authorize the acquisition, alienation, or disposition of the land hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and all other powers him enabling, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the acquisition, by Ngamatia Limited (a company incorporated under Part V of the Companies Act, 1908), by way of lease of the Native land mentioned in the Schedule hereto and the alienation and disposition thereof, notwithstanding the provisions of sections seventy-two to seventy-six (inclusive) of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, or of Part XII of the Native Land Act, 1909.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land situated in the Rangitikei County, comprising an area of 5,500 acres, more or less, and being the land known as Owhaoko D 5, Subdivision No. 4.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments of that Act, and all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that the following shall be the only class-book in school music that teachers in public schools shall be authorized to require their pupils to purchase for school use; and with the like advice and consent doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
