Mining Privilege to be struck off the Register.—Notice under the Mining Act, 1926.

NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of section 188 (3) of the Mining Act, 1926, that unless sufficient cause be shown to the contrary within three months from the date hereof, the following mining privilege will be struck off the Register :—
License No. 1511, dated 28th February, 1928, for a mineral-prospecting warrant. Locality : Upper Mangles, Section 3, Block 3, comprising part Section 3, Block 3, and part of Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Block 4, Tutaki Survey District, and part Sections 4, 5, 6, and 10, Matiri Survey District. Licensee: Thomas Ballingall, Esquire, Secretary for the Southern Mines Corporation, Ltd., Wanganui.

It is notified for public information that the Agency of the Public Trust Office at Thames has been terminated, and a permanent branch will be established as from the 1st September under the control of Mr. L. C. Kerr.

Public Service Superannuation Fund.
NOTICE TO CONTRIBUTORS re BROKEN SERVICE.
THE Public Service Superannuation Board will receive applications from contributors to the Fund who have had a break in service not exceeding twelve months, and who desire the Board to consider the granting of service prior to the break and the period by which their service has been interrupted.
Applications must be addressed to the Secretary, Public Service Superannuation Board, Wellington, and forwarded through the Permanent Head of the Department in which contributors are employed. Full particulars must be furnished by applicants and certified as correct by the Permanent Head.
After investigation applicants will be notified concerning their claim, and if allowed, the conditions attached thereto.
Applications must reach the Public Service Superannuation Office not later than the 31st day of January, 1932. Any contributor who neglects to submit an application within the time prescribed or, having submitted an application, declines to accept the conditions imposed by the Board, cannot at a subsequent date submit or renew an application.
The following example will serve as a guide to contributors :—
On 1st January, 1909, X was appointed to the Public Service and became a contributor to the Fund as from that date. On the 30th June, 1911, he resigned and received a refund of his total contributions. He was reappointed in a temporary capacity on 1st February, 1912, subsequently being appointed permanently on the 1st October, 1912. His present superannuation service counts as from the last-mentioned date.
This notification does not apply to those contributors to the Fund who have a statutory break in their superannuation service vide section 18, Public Service Superannuation Act, 1927, e.g.,—
B was appointed to the Public Service as a temporary employee on the 1st October, 1905, and by virtue of five years’ temporary employment became a permanent officer on the 1st October, 1910. He became a contributor to the Fund on the last-mentioned date, and his service for superannuation purposes is recorded as follows : 1st October, 1905, to 29th June, 1908 (inclusive), and from 1st October, 1910, onwards.
