NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between CYRIL ERNEST GWATKIN and FREDERICK RICHARD DUDLEY, carrying on business as General Carriers and Customhouse Agents at No. 550 Colombo Street, Christchurch, under the style or name of “C. E. Gwatkin and Co.,” has been dissolved by reason of the death of the said Cyril Ernest Gwatkin, as from the 3rd day of June, 1931. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said Frederick Richard Dudley, who will continue to carry on the said business under the style or name of “C. E. Gwatkin and Co.”

THE NONPARIEL MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LTD.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of THE NONPARIEL MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 7th day of August, 1931, presented to Mr. Justice MacGregor, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by John McArdle and Archie Plank, trading as “J. McArdle and Company,” a creditor of the said company. And the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the 26th day of August, 1931, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of shareholders of the above company, held on 29th July, 1931, the following resolution was unanimously carried:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily, and that WILLIAM HENRY QUICKFALL, of New Plymouth, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 7th day of August, 1931, cancelled the registry of St. Mary’s Branch, No. 716, of The New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society, Friendly Society (Register No. 198/82), held at Hamilton, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

In the matter of the Rating Act, 1925.

PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Wanganui, held on the 5th day of August, 1931, on the proposal that the system of rating property on the basis of unimproved value thereof be adopted in the City of Wanganui, the number of votes recorded was:—

Against the proposal 2,188

Majority for the proposal 714
Informal 28

I therefore declare that the said proposal was duly carried.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, by special resolution duly passed on the 4th August, 1931, by the shareholders of THE HAMILTON STORES, LIMITED, in accordance with the provisions of section 168, subsection (6), and section 220 (b) of the said Act, it was resolved that the company go into voluntary liquidation forthwith, and that WILLIAM ARCHIBALD KENDON, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator.
