A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted
pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908
(hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), has recommended
that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be
permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient
to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be a scenic reserve under the said Act, and
subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by
admeasurement 151 acres 0 roods 5 perches, more or less,
being Section 86, Block VI, Hunua Survey District, and
known generally as Whakapapa Island: Bounded towards
the north generally by the Wanganui River; towards the
east and south-east generally by the right branch of the
Whakapapa River; and towards the west and north-west
generally by the left branch of the Whakapapa River to its
eastern confluence with the Wanganui River: excepting from
the within-described boundaries portion of the Tongariro
Timber Company's tramway. As the same is more particu-
larly delineated on plan numbered 270/34, deposited in the
Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey,
and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 1st day of
August, 1931.

Declaring Land in Hauraki Mining District, Auckland Land
District, open for Disposal on Renewable Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and fifty-four of
the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-
General, by Proclamation, may from time to time declare any
lands within any mining district to be open for disposal as
provided in section one hundred and fifty-three of the said
Act:
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon me by the one-hundred-
and-fifty-fourth section of the said Act, and of every other
power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall be open on Friday, the twenty-fifth
day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one,
for disposal as provided in section one hundred and fifty-
three of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.--HAURAKI MINING DISTRICT.--
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Tauranga County.--Aroha Survey District.
SECTION 3, Block VII : Area, 323 acres 0 roods 16 perches.
Capital value, Β£165. Half-yearly rent, Β£3 6s.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of
July, 1931.
