as Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Awanui, as from the 2nd day of July, 1931.

Member of the Hurunui and the Motunau Rabbit Boards appointed.—(Notice No. Ag. 2985.)

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by section 37 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, I, Alfred James Murdoch, Minister of Agriculture, do hereby appoint James Forsyth Sinclair, being an Inspector appointed under Part I of the said Act, to be a member of the Hurunui and the Motunau Rabbit Boards established under the said Act, vice John Munro.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces :—

COMMANDS.

Colonel H. E. Barrowclough, D.S.O., M.C., relinquishes command of the 3rd N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (a). Dated 13th July, 1931.

Lieut.-Colonel T. H. Dawson, C.M.G., C.B.E., v.d., relinquishes command of the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 22nd June, 1931.

Major N. L. Macky, M.C., 1st Battalion, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be Lieut.-Colonel, and is appointed to command the Regiment. Dated 23rd June, 1931.

THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant W. D. P. Dennehy resigns his commission on appointment to a Short-service Commission in the Royal Air Force. Dated 29th December, 1930.

THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant L. B. Ballantyne, The Canterbury Regiment, is attached under the provisions of para. 141, General Regulations, 1927. Dated 11th July, 1931.
