CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 21st July, 1931.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 24th August, 1931.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, the 26th August, 1931, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Whangamomona County.—Pouatu Survey District.
(Exempt from the payment of rent for eight years.)

SECTION 10, Block IX: Area, 979 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £250. Half-yearly rent, £5.

After payment of first half-year’s rent, lease fee, and broken-period rent (if any), a remission of rent for a period of eight years will be allowed, provided improvements to the value of £25 are effected annually during the exemption period.

This section is situated on the Marco Road, about ten miles from the Whangamomona Township and railway-station by formed road, six miles of which is metalled. With the exception of about 250 acres, it comprises steep and broken sandstone country. About 70 acres have been felled and grassed, but this has reverted to second growth.

Land in the Otago Land District for Sale or Selection.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 21st July, 1931.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be opened for selection in terms of the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 7th September, 1931.

Applicants should appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 9th September, 1931, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board, or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The land may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Clutha County.—Woodland Survey District.
(Exempt from the payment of rent or interest for four years.)

SECTION 21, Block VI: Area, 228 acres 1 rood 9 perches. Capital value, £120. Deposit on deferred payments, £5; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £3 14s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 8s.

Situated about three miles and a half from Caberfeidh Railway-station; formed and metalled road to within half a mile. The section is undulating and backlying, and is all bush except for a few acres at one time felled, but now mostly second growth. The soil is of a light loam, resting on a clay bottom.

Special Condition: After payment of first half-year’s rent (or deposit on deferred payments as the case may be) no further rent (or such parts of the instalment on deferred payments as consist of interest) will be demanded for four years.

Land in Otago Mining District, Otago Land District, for Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 7th September, 1931.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 9th September, 1931, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

The land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—OTAGO MINING DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Lake County.—Lower Wanaka Survey District.

SECTION 9, Block XIV: Area, 260 acres 0 roods 12 perches. Capital value, £225. Half-yearly rent, £4 10s.

The section is situated about two miles from Pembroke and about thirty-five miles from Cromwell Railway-station by good road. About 150 acres of easy ridges ploughable, the balance broken and gravelly in patches. The soil is of a light schisty loam, resting on gravel and rock. No water available.

This section has been classified as undeveloped, and the selector may apply to the Lands Development Board, through the Commissioner of Crown Lands, for advances up to 90 per cent. of the value of the proposed improvements, not exceeding £1,250 in all. The Lands Development Board will deal with any application on its merits.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 26th August, 1931, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and amendments.

SECTION 3, Block XXVIII: Area, 2 roods 2·6 perches. Upset price, £12.
SECTION 4, Block XXVIII: Area, 2 roods 14 perches. Upset price, £15.

The Township of Pembroke is situated on Lake Wanaka, one hundred and ninety-nine miles north-west from Dunedin. Unsurpassed as a tourist and health resort. Post and telegraph and money-order offices. The township is situated along the edge of the lake, and all the sections are close to the wharf, post-office, &c.
