A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for waterworks purposes, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Whangarei, as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road in Akaroa Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 1 acre 3 roods 39-2 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Rural Sections 14752 and 14827, and Reserve 3990.

Amending a License authorizing the Malvern Electric-power Board to use Electric Lines within the Malvern Electric-power District and Outer Area of such District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of July, 1931.
Present:

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eleventh day of the same month, authorizing the Malvern Electric-power Board to use electric lines within the Malvern Electric-power District and outer area of such district, by deleting clause 4 of the Schedule thereto, and substituting therefor the following clause:

“4. Charges for Electrical Energy.—The charges for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. per unit for lighting purposes and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes: Provided that ‘lighting purposes’ shall include the operation of motor generators for lighting purposes; and provided further that if accounts are paid within fourteen days of due date, the charges shall not exceed 11d. per unit for lighting purposes and 4½d. per unit for motor-power, cooking, and heating purposes.

“In the case of wholesale supply the charge shall not exceed £16 per kilovolt-ampere of maximum demand per year, plus ¼d. per unit. ‘Wholesale supply’ for this purpose shall be held to be a supply in respect of which the consumer shall guarantee to pay not less than £180 per annum. A minimum charge not exceeding 9s. 6d. per month, including meter rent (if any) may be collected from each consumer if required by the licensee, and shall be printed on the licensee’s conditions of supply.”

Authorizing the Laying-off of Streets in the Borough of Lower Hutt of Widths of less than 66 ft., but not less than 40 ft., subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of July, 1931.
Present:

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Lower Hutt Borough Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed streets, described in the Schedule hereto, of widths of less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the said streets within a distance of thirty-five feet from the centre-lines of the said streets.
