SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Patea County.—Kapara Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for ten years.)
SECTIONS 8 and 9, Block V: Area, 1,951 acres. Capital value, £500. Half-yearly rent, £10.
After the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent (if any), and lease-fee have been paid, no further rent will be payable for a period of ten years provided permanent improvements to the value of £50 are effected annually during the exemption period.
Weighted with £500, for improvements comprising four-roomed dwelling, yards, 140 chains fencing, and felling and grassing, to be secured by instalment mortgage for twenty-four years and a half, interest at 5½ per cent., payable by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £18 15s.
Exemption from interest payable under the mortgage will be granted for a period of two years provided permanent improvements to the value of £30 are effected annually. The total improvements to be effected to gain the remission of rent and interest will, therefore, be £80 for each of the first two years, and thereafter £50 per annum.
A grazing farm situated on the Ridge and Mataimoana Roads, about twenty-four miles from Waverley Station and eighteen miles from Kohi School. The property comprises high-lying country, of which 700 acres have been felled and grassed, now partly reverted to second growth; the balance being in bush.

Pastoral Run in the Otago Mining District, Otago Land District, open for License.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 13th July, 1931.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run will be opened for lease in terms of the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 7th September, 1931.
Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 9th September, 1931, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district.
The ballot will be held immediately on conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
Lake County.—Lower Wanaka Survey District.—Otago Mining District.
RUN 663: Area, 534 acres 3 roods 37 perches. Half-yearly rent, £8 5s.
Weighted with £50, for improvements comprising approximately 80 chains south roadline boundary fencing.
The run is situated about half a mile from Pembroke, and about thirty-four miles from Cromwell Railway-station by good road. The area is mostly undulating; steep towards eastern side, with rocky outcrops. The soil is a light schisty loam resting on gravel and rock. No water available.
NOTE.—This section has been classified as undeveloped, and the selector may apply to the Lands Development Board, through the Commissioner of Crown Lands, for advances up to 90 per cent. of the value of proposed improvements, not exceeding £1,250 in all.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS.

The Pembroke Dog Trial Club may, with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin, hold dog trials on approved area held under the license, provided thirty clear days’ notice is given the Commissioner as to intention to hold such trials. The hut on the area, with right of ingress and egress thereto, may be left on the run during the pleasure of the Commissioner, who may also give permission to the club to remove or replace such hut.

The land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the licensee, whose right shall be to the surface only.

The Town of Erua is situated on the North Island Main Trunk Railway line, fourteen miles from Ohakune and thirty-six miles from Taumarunui. All sections are level, dry, and covered with tussock, flax, and native grasses. The main north road runs through the town, and Erua Railway-station adjoins. Sections are suitable for business or residence sites.
