ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, being Section 1, Town Belt, Borough of Rotorua. Bounded towards the north by Amohau Street, 253·27 links; towards the east by portion of the aforesaid Town Belt, 296·98 links; towards the south by the proposed Taupo railway, 253·13 links; and towards the west by Fenton Street, 295·86 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/3455A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

Notifying Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, and section forty-seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1922, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the nineteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

These sections are situated on the east side of Vanguard Street, in the City of Nelson, about thirty chains from Nelson Railway-station. They are good building-sites, and the locality is a desirable one.

Opening Settlement Land in Gisborne Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Friday, the fourteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule, and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.


SCHEDULE.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Wairoa County.—Ardkeen Settlement.

Lot 1 of Section 1s: Area, 87 acres 1 rod 24 perches. Capital value, £270. Half-yearly rent, £6 15s. Weighted with £300 for improvements.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Southland Electric-power Board.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Southland Electric-power Board, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Board shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.


SCHEDULE.

LAKE MONOWAI SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing 60,100 acres, more or less, bounded as follows: Commencing at Trig. Station D on the western boundary of Pastoral Run No. 463, bounded towards the north by a right line from the said Trig. D to Eldrig Peak; towards the north-east by a right line to Mount Burns; towards the north-west by a right line to White Peak; towards the south-west by the summit of the Kaherekoau Mountains through Ardeer Peak and Knoll Peak to the national park boundary; thence by the said national park boundary to the said Trig. Station D, the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly shown on plan marked L. and S. 4/300, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 10th day of July, 1931.
