Amending a Proclamation setting apart Land as a Provisional State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of that month, at page 2842 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Proclamation”), an area containing 32,400 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks II, III, IV, VII, VIII, X, and XI, Totara Survey District, Westland Land District, was set apart as a provisional State forest:

And whereas an error was made in the Schedule attached to the said Proclamation, and it is desirable that the error be rectified:

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, do hereby amend the said Proclamation by substituting the Schedule attached hereto for the Schedule attached to the said Proclamation.

SCHEDULE.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WESTLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

Provisional State Forest No. 1628.

ALL that area of national-endowment land in Blocks II, III, IV, VII, VIII, X, and XI, Totara Survey District, in the Land District of Westland, containing by admeasurement 31,898 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-western corner of Block X, Totara Survey District, and proceeding along the western boundary of the said block to the eastern boundary of Section 2105; thence along the said eastern boundary and the northern boundary of Section 2105 to the said western boundary of Block X, and along that boundary to the north-western corner of the said block; thence along the northern boundaries of Blocks X and XI aforesaid, 31400 links; thence due north to the northern boundary of Block VII aforesaid, and along the said northern boundary to the western boundary of Block III aforesaid; thence along the said western boundary, 9500 links; thence due west to a point on the eastern boundary of the Borough of Ross; thence along the said eastern boundary to the right bank of Donnelly’s Creek; thence along the said bank to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 1080; thence to and along the southern boundary and along the eastern boundary of said Section 1080 to a road reserve; thence along the western side of the said road reserve to the south-western corner of Section 1194; thence generally along the southern boundaries of the said Section 1194 and Sections 1474, 1460, 1338, 1498, 1490, 3189, 2857, and 1501 to a road reserve; thence along the said road reserve to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 2916, across the said road reserve, and along the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 2916, the southern boundary of Section 1556, and the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 1545 to Cedar Creek Road; thence along the said road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 2523, across the said road and along the said section boundary to its eastern extremity; thence eastward along a straight line to the southern corner of Section 2802; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 2802 to the H.M. Line Road; thence along the H.M. Line Road to the northern boundary of Block III aforesaid; thence along the said block boundary and the northern boundary of Block IV aforesaid to the left bank of the Hokitika River; thence along the said river-bank to the northern corner of Section 2329; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said section and the south-western boundary of Section 2230, across a road reserve, and generally along the south-western boundaries of Sections 2331, 2332, and 2333, across a road reserve to the most northern corner of Section 2336; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of said Section 2336, across a road reserve, across Doctor Creek, again across a road reserve, and along the south-western boundary of Section 2338 to the eastern boundary of Block VIII aforesaid; and thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Block VIII, and the eastern and southern boundaries of Block XI, and the southern boundary of Block X aforesaid, to the point of commencement: save and except therefrom Sections 2525, 2844, and 2915, which are within the above-described area. As the same is delineated on sheet 41, roll plan 450, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.
