Notice to Mariners No. 23 of 1931.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—EAST COAST.—NAPIER INNER HARBOUR.

  1. Re-erection of Signal Staff.
  2. Exhibition of Signals.
  3. Tidal Signals discontinued.

Position: Lat. 39° 29′ S., long. 176° 54′ E. (approx.).
Former Notice: No. 8 of 1931. Part 1a is hereby cancelled.
Details: 1. The Signal Staff formerly erected near the corner of West Quay has been re-established about 300 ft. to the southward, on the northern end of the new No. 1 Cargo-shed.
2. The following signals will be exhibited from the new staff when the channel is blocked.
By day: Pennant D.
By night: A red light.
3. The tidal signals formerly made have been discontinued as there is now no tidal stream.

Notice to Mariners No. 24 of 1931.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—PORT NICHOLSON.

Temporary Alteration in Lights.

Position: Wellington–Lyttelton Ferry Wharf.
Details: During alterations to the wharf the exhibition of the three green lights marking the end of it will be discontinued and a fixed white light exhibited from the outermost end of the extension. The green lights will be re-exhibited when the alterations are completed. No further notice will be given.

Election of Members of Board of Appeal under Public Service Amendment Act, 1927, as Representatives of Officers of the Public Service.

I, THOMAS MARK, Returning Officer for the election of members of the Public Service Board of Appeal, hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Service Amendment Act, 1927, and the regulations relating to the Public Service, that the only officers nominated for elective membership of the said Board were Charles de Rant Andrews, Esquire, of the Valuation Department, Dunedin, and Thomas Pound, Esquire, of the Lands and Survey Department, Dunedin.

I do therefore hereby declare that the said Charles de Rant Andrews, and Thomas Pound are duly elected as Members of the Public Service Board of Appeal.
