Approval of Fees for licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-laws.—
Waipa County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 109 of the Counties Act, 1920, that so much of the by-law made by the Waipa County Council, and sealed on the 15th day of June, 1931, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Waipa County fund for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Rangitaiki Land Drainage.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES.
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 25th June, 1931.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act the general rates to meet maintenance-costs (less subsidy) for the period 1st April, 1931, to 31st March, 1932, as described in the First Schedule hereto; and the special rates to meet interest on capital for the period 1st April, 1931, to 31st March, 1932, as described in the Second Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 17th July, 1931.
The valuation-roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, at Thornton, near Whakatane, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
GENERAL RATES.
Class A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act, twopence and three-tenths of a penny (2·3d.) in the pound.
Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, one penny and fifty-three one-hundredths of a penny (1·53d.) in the pound.
Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, seventy-seven one-hundredths of a penny (0·77d.) in the pound.
Class D: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class D, twenty-five one-hundredths of a penny (0·25d.) in the pound.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
SPECIAL RATES.
Class A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act, twopence and forty-six one-hundredths of a penny (2·46d.) in the pound.
Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, one penny and sixty-four one-hundredths of a penny (1·64d.) in the pound.
Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, eighty-two one-hundredths of a penny (0·82d.) in the pound.
Class D: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class D, twenty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (0·27d.) in the pound.

Notifying Land in the Auckland Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 13th June, 1931.
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned land, being the land known as Te Poi Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from the 30th April, 1931.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TE POI SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 177 acres 0 roods 1 perch, more or less, being Lots 1 and 2 on plan No. 23631, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being a subdivision of portion Section 61, Block XV, Tapapa Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by Lot 1 on plan No. 12968, deposited as aforesaid, 4182·3 links; towards the east and south-east by a public road, 4686·9 and 1097·9 links respectively; towards the south-west by portion Section 61, Block XV, Tapapa Survey District, 127·1, 1745·2, and 201·0 links respectively; and towards the west generally by Lot 1 on plan 11528, deposited as aforesaid, 2996·0, 504·8, 397·6, 710·7, 559·9, and 363·8 links respectively; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/312/92, deposited under No. 2496 in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Classification of Portion of Stratford-Taumarunui Main Highway.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Main Highways Board’s proposed classification of that portion of the Stratford-Taumarunui Main Highway, commencing at Tahora Road Junction and terminating at the boundary between Stratford and Whangamomona Counties, in the Fourth Class, available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons.

Classification of Roads in Taieri County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Taieri County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Taieri County.
SCHEDULE.
TAIERI COUNTY.
ROADS classified in the Second Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10 tons.
Kaikorai Valley Road.
Main Highway—Dunedin to Invercargill (Taieri County Section).
Roads classified in the Third Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons.
Main Highways—
Dunback to Middlemarch Post-office (Waihemo Boundary to Middlemarch).
Dunedin to Duke’s Road Railway-station.
Green Island to Taieri Mouth.
Mosgiel Junction to Middlemarch Post-office.
