Arthur Gorbell Bignell, Esquire,

to be a member of the Licensing Committee for the district of Wanganui.

Abraham Hodgson, Esquire,

to be a member of the Licensing Committee for the district of Wairau, vice E. H. Smith, resigned.

William Howard Booth, Esquire, and Henry Thomas Rees, Esquire,

to be members of the Licensing Committee for the district of Wairarapa.

Open Season for Moose Shooting, Southland Acclimatization District (Fiordland National Park).

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of March, 1931, to the 30th day of April, 1931 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in that portion of the Southland Acclimatization District described in the First Schedule hereto for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., moose bulls and cows—subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill moose bulls and cows may be issued by the Chief Postmaster, Invercargill, on the recommendation of the Secretary of the Southland Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £20 in respect of Blocks I and II and of £10 in respect of Block III, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification.

  2. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  3. The fee paid for licenses issued pursuant to this notification shall, after deducting the cost of and incidental to the issue of such licenses, and any other expenses in connection therewith, be paid to the Department of Industries and Commerce, Tourist, and Publicity and the Southland Acclimatization Society in equal proportions.

  4. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable on conviction to a fine of £20.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

Block I.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the head of Broughton Arm, Breaksea Sound; thence along a right line to Mount Crowfoot; thence southerly along the summit of the Braan Mountains, and westerly and southerly along the northern and western watersheds of Supper Cove to the northern shore of Dusky Sound; thence westerly along the shore to Acheron Passage; thence northerly along the eastern shore of Acheron Passage, crossing the mouth of Wet Jacket Arm to Breaksea Sound; thence easterly along the southern shore of Breaksea Sound to the head of Broughton Arm, the place of commencement.

Block II.

All that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line from the summit of Mount Crowfoot to the summit of Mount Gladstone; thence along the summit of the watershed to Mount Bain; thence along a right line to McDonnell Peak; thence along a right line to Vincent Peak; thence to and along the southern watershed of the Seaforth River to Mount Solitary; thence along a right line to the head of Dusky Sound; thence along the northern shores of Dusky Sound to a point in line with the western watershed of Supper Cove; thence along the western and northern watershed of Supper Cove to the Braan Mountains; thence northerly along the summit of the Braan Mountains to the summit of Mount Crowfoot, the place of commencement.

Block III.

All that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the summit of Mount Vincent; thence to and along the eastern watershed of the Hauroko Burn to its point of intersection with the production of a line running between End Peak and Cone Peak; thence along that line to said Cone Peak; thence along a right line to the head of Dusky Sound; thence along a right line to Mount Solitary; thence to and along the southern watershed of the Seaforth River to Mount Vincent, the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Licenses to take or kill Imported Game (Moose).

, of , having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill moose bulls and cows in Block of the area described in the endorsement hereon from the 2nd day of March, 1931, to the 30th day of April, 1931 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and all regulations and notifications affecting moose made thereunder and in force within the Southland Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of March, 1931, to the 30th day of April, 1931 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the North Canterbury Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-deer stags and hinds—within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.
