(b) Thereafter, to all or any one or more, to the exclusion
of the others or other, of the purposes set forth in
subclauses (b) to (g) inclusive of section 7 of the
Wanganui Church Acre Amendment, Act, 1917
(subject in all respects to the provisions of the said
subclauses respectively), in such sum or sums, and at
such time or times and in such order as the Diocesan
Synod (subject to appeal to the General Synod as
provided by the Constitution of the Church) may
from time to time direct.

Printed copies of the proposed Bill will, on or before the
7th day of May, 1931, be deposited at the Private Bills Office,
Parliamentary Buildings, Wellington, and at the Diocesan
Office, Mulgrave Street, Wellington, where, as well as at the
offices of the undersigned, at 102 Featherston Street, Wellington,
the said copies may be inspected and obtained.

PURSUANT to section 307 of the Companies Act, 1908,
notice is hereby given that THE PROGRESS MINES OF
NEW ZEALAND, LIMITED, an English mining company duly
incorporated, and having its registered office in Bridge Street,
Reefton, in the Dominion of New Zealand, and carrying on
business near Reefton, will voluntarily cease to carry on
business in New Zealand after the expiration of three months
from the 1st day of May, 1931.

THE POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves as
follows :

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of seventy-eight thousand pounds (£78,000),
authorized to be raised by the Poverty Bay Electric-power
Board under the above-mentioned Act for constructing works
in connection with the change-over from direct current to
alternating current, increasing the capacity of lines, and
incidentals and works in connection with the extension of the
reticulation system, in respect of which latter works, guarantees
as described in clause 12 (1) of the Electrical Supply
Regulations, 1927, have first been given in favour of the
Power Board for payments amounting in each of not less
than ten consecutive years from the completion of such
works to at least seventeen per cent. of the estimated cost
of such works, the said Poverty Bay Electric-power Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth of one
penny (1/9d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value,
on the basis of the capital value, of all rateable property in
the Poverty Bay Electric-power District, as defined in the
Proclamation proclaiming the said area dated the fourteenth
day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three (14th December, 1923), and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of January in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty-six (26) years, or until the loan is fully
paid up.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up
of the above-named company by the Supreme Court
was, on the 17th day of April, 1931, presented to the Honourable Sir Alexander Lawrence Herdman, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by William Evans Dive, of the City of Auckland, Merchant, a creditor of the said company; and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court at Auckland at 10 o’clock in the forenoon on Monday, the 25th day of May, 1931; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous of opposing the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
