  1. Exclusive of the Mayor, the Mount Albert Borough Council shall consist of ten members, two of whom shall be elected by each of the five wards in the said borough known as Wards “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” and “E.”

  2. The alteration hereby made in the number of the members of the said Council shall take effect on and after the 6th day of May, 1931, and the councillors to be elected in the month of May, 1931, shall be elected in accordance with the provisions of this special order.

SCHEDULE.
Ward “A.”

All that area in the Borough of Mount Albert bounded as follows: Commencing at a point in the middle of St. Luke’s Road at its intersection with New North Road; thence on the north generally by the middle of St. Luke’s Road aforesaid and the middle of Balmoral Road to the boundary of the Borough of Mount Eden as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1925, No. 71, page 2912; thence on the east and south generally by the boundary of the Borough of Mount Eden aforesaid and the boundary of the Mount Roskill Road District, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1925, No. 71, page 2912, to the intersection of Vincent Road and Mount Albert Road; thence on the west generally by the middle of Mount Albert Road aforesaid and the middle of Alberton Avenue and New North Road to the point of commencement.

Ward “E.”

All that area in the Borough of Mount Albert bounded as follows: Commencing at a point being the intersection of Oakley Stream and the middle of New North Road; thence on the north-west by the middle of New North Road aforesaid to its intersection with Alberton Avenue; thence on the east generally by the middle of Alberton Avenue aforesaid, and the middle of Mount Albert Road to the boundary of the Mount Roskill Road District, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1925, No. 71, page 2912; thence on the south generally by the boundary of the Mount Roskill Road District aforesaid to the intersection of Richardson Road and Oakley Stream; thence by Oakley Stream to the point of commencement.

The Chief Surveyor of the North Auckland Land District certifies that the description contained in the above special order is sufficient to render the boundaries of each ward affected capable of identification.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette and Kahiti of the 23rd January, 1930, that the Native Minister has decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to the various parcels or subdivisions of the Mohaka and Waipapa Blocks of Native land or land owned by Natives in the Tairawhiti Native Land Court District: And whereas the Native Minister has now decided that the Native land or land owned by Natives set out in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of the said section 23, and shall be included in and form part of the Mohaka Development Scheme. Notice of the Native Minister’s intention is hereby given and published in accordance with the said subsection (3) which provides that no owner shall, except with the consent of the Native Minister, be entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of any works undertaken or to be undertaken under the said subsection (3).
