The Town of Birchville is situated on the Akatarawa Road, about two miles and a half from the Upper Hutt and about half a mile from the Brown Owl Refreshment-rooms, the present terminus of the motor-bus service.

The township has been laid off with the view of providing suitable building-sites at one of Wellington's most popular resorts. The Hutt River, which flows past the township, provides for excellent fishing and swimming.

A high-pressure water-supply is laid along the main road, and it is understood that for a modest fee a connection can be obtained for each section upon application to the Upper Hutt Borough Council.

The sections being offered are practically all level, and are ideal building-sites. Several sections have frontages to both Kowhai Street and the river-bank reserve, and quite a number have small patches of native bush which provide ideal shelter.

Special Condition.—It shall be a special condition that the purchasers of sections through which drains are constructed must keep those drains open at all times and shall properly clean and clear such drains when requested to do so.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of March, 1931.

E. A. RANSOM, Minister of Lands.
