MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I ARTHUR LESLIE SHEILD, M.B., Ch.B., University of N.Z., 1931, now residing in Dunedin, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 13th day of April next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Dunedin.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other Acts and powers enabling it in this behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the 16th day of March, 1931, that, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000), to be known as “The Wellington City Street-widening Loan, 1931,” authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of widening and improving the following streets:

Constable Street and Riddiford Street,
Access to Eastern Suburbs (new street at Dufferin Street),
Sydney and Bowen Streets,
Glenmore Street,
Thorndon Quay,
Willis Street,
Arthur Street,
Taranaki Street,
Lloyd and Nelson Streets, and
Ghuznee Street.

The said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-fifth of a penny (1/25d.) in the pound on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years from the 30th day of March, 1931, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school the following land, namely:

All that piece of land, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing 1 acre and 6.2 perches, more or less, being portion of Kawhia P. No. 8 Section 3 Block (Motungaio), situate in Block IX, Kawhia North Survey District.

A plan of the said land is deposited at the post-office at Kawhia, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street, Auckland.

OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Te Rauamauku Road Special-rating Area Loan, £1,200.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Otorohanga County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Otorohanga County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of reforming, culverting, and metalling Te Rauamauku Road, commencing at Honikiwi Main Highway and extending southwards as far as the money will go, the said Otorohanga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence and one farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Te Rauamauku Special-rating Area as described in the Schedule hereto, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty years, or such shorter period as may be determined by the Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE SCHEDULE HEREINBEFORE MENTIONED.

All that area in the Orahiri Survey District, commencing at the north-west corner of Section 2, Block VI; thence following the Tapuae Road along the western boundaries of Sections 2 and 3 to the county boundary; thence following the county boundary along the southern boundaries of Section 3, Block VI, and Section 12, Block VII; thence along the southern boundary of the said Section 12 north-eastwards; thence bisecting Sections 11, 10, and 9 to the south-west corner of Section 7; thence following the southern boundaries of Sections 7 and 12; thence following the eastern boundary of Section 12 to a road; thence following the said road to the south-east corner of Section 8; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 8, the northern boundaries of Sections 8 and 9; thence along the western boundary of Section 9 to the most northerly point of Section 10; thence along the western boundary southwards of the said Section 10, to the north-east corner of Section E2 No. 4B; thence along the northern boundaries of the said Section E2 No. 4B; the northern boundaries of Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block VII; the northern boundary of Section 2, Block VI, to the point of commencement.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

No. 3 Separate Area Loan, 1930 (£1,333 6s. 8d).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Manawatu-Oroua River Board hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,333 6s. 8d.; authorized to be raised by the Manawatu-Oroua River Board under the above-mentioned Act, for stop-banking, river-protection, flood-gates, fencing, and planting, the said Manawatu-Oroua River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny three-farthings on all rateable property of the No. 3 Separate Area of the Manawatu-Oroua River Board District, comprising the Makerua Subdivision of the Manawatu-Oroua River District.

The said Separate Area No. 3 is shown on the map of the Moutere and Mount Robinson Survey Districts signed by F. C. Hay, Civil Engineer, and deposited in the Board’s Office, and thereon coloured blue.
