8. No person shall use or cause to be used on any lake, pond, lagoon, mere, estuary, or other dead water any power-boat for the purpose of taking or killing, whether by himself or by some other person or persons at his direction, by driving, chasing, frightening, or stalking any imported game or native game. For the purpose of this condition, power-boat means and includes any launch, boat, canoe, or other similar craft propelled either wholly or partly by mechanical power: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any power-boat for camping purposes or for the purpose of travelling either to or from a rendezvous or generally or to prohibit shooting from a moored power-boat.
9. Nothing in this Warrant shall apply to hares in the Counties of Akitio, Castlepoint, Masterton, Pahiatua, Featherston, and Wairarapa South, wherein these animals are not protected.
10. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Wangaehu River, and proceeding thence up the middle of that river to a point 18 chains due west of the western boundary of Block XIV, Mangawhero Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line, passing through Okaiepe Trig. Station, to the summit of the eastern watershed of the Wangaehu River; north-easterly along the summit of that watershed to Trig. Station DD (Maungakaretu); along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 1, Block X, Maungakaretu Survey District; along the south-western boundary of said Section 1 and the southern boundaries generally of Ruanui Blocks Nos. 2B 7, 2B 6, 2B 5, 2B 4, and 2B 3, and along the middle of the Panemango Stream to its junction with Tomakomako Stream; thence along a right line to Trig. Station 32; along a right line to Trig. Station 16 (Kanaekeke), a right line to Trig. Station Auahitotara, a right line to Trig. Station Te Rotete, a right line to Trig. Station 28 (Manukaiapu), a right line to Trig. Station 27 (Motumatai), and along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 26 (Tawakitohunga) to the Rangitikei River; thence down the middle of that river to its intersection by a right line between Trig. Stations 32 and E (Aorangi); thence along that line to Aorangi, and along a right line in the direction of the confluence of the Makaroro and Waipawa Rivers, to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence southerly along the summit of that range to the source of the Pourangaki Stream; down the middle of that stream, the middle of the Kawhatau Stream, and the middle of the Rangitikei River, to the Awahuri-Bull's Road; along that road to the Oroua River at Awahuri; up the middle of that river to the North Island Main Trunk Railway line; along that railway-line, along Stony Creek Road, and along the Palmerston - Ashhurst Road to Section 457; thence along the south-western boundaries of Sections 457 and 456 to the Manawatu River; thence up the middle of that river and along the provincial district boundary to the sea at the mouth of the Waimata River; thence along the sea-coast southerly, westerly, and northerly, passing Cape Palliser and Cape Terawhiti to the mouth of the Wangaehu River, the point of commencement.

Open Season for Imported and Native Game, License Fees, &c., Westland Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of May to the 31st day of July, 1931 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Westland Acclimatization District, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of the following imported and native game-viz., Californian quail, Australian quail, mallard duck, grey duck, and black swan; and the period from the 1st day of May to the 7th day of May, 1931 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in that part of the said district known as Wataroa, Cooks, and Karangarua River Flats, South Westland, for the taking or killing of the following native game-viz., paradise duck-subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

1. LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the Postmasters at Hokitika, Otira, Kumara, Rimu, Ross, Harihari, Weheka, and Waiho Gorge are hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses,
2. The number of such native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twenty-five in all of grey duck, black swan, and paradise duck: Provided that not more than five head of paradise duck may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day.
3. Nothing in any license to take or kill imported and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported or native game on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.
4. No person shall kill or destroy any such imported or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such imported or native game, with any automatic or auto-loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle, swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight, and no cartridge shall be used the length of which exceeds 2½ in.
5. Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after sunset.
6. No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any one time (whether by one or several persons), on any particular water within an area of less than 100 yards square.
7. No person shall use or cause to be used any aeroplane in connection with the taking or killing of imported game or native game: Provided that this condition shall not be so construed as to prohibit the use of any aeroplane for the purpose of travelling either to or from a rendezvous.
