Section 16, Block XIII: Area, 202 acres 0 roods 34 perches. Capital value, £50. Deposit on deferred payments, £5; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £1 9s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2.
Property suitable for mixed farming. Situated two miles from Mamaku Railway-station, by a summer road, and ten miles from Ngongotaha Dairy Factory.
Three acres in good pasture, 103 acres in bush that has been milled, 90 acres felled and grassed, now reverting to second growth, blackberry, and ragwort. Six acres bush land felled and stumped. No permanent water-supply.
Weighted with £45, for improvements comprising approximately 160 chains three-wire fencing (poor condition), and 40 chains six-wire fencing (fair condition). This sum is payable in cash.

Opening Lands in the Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Friday, the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do hereby declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Otorohanga County.—Pirongia Survey District.—Maungakiekie Block.
Native Land Settlement and Crown Land.
SECTION 7, Block XI: Area, 105 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £150. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 11s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 4s. 3d.
Section 8, Block XI: Area, 94 acres. Capital value, £140. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 4s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 16s.
These sections are situated on the Kawhia–Pirongia Road, a quarter of a mile from Ngutunui Post-office, half a mile from Ngutunui School, and fifteen miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station. The land is undulating, and in its natural state, being covered with fern and tutu. The soil is a light to medium loam resting on sandstone and clay formation. It is considered that the sections will make good dairy farms when developed.
Section 7: Approximately 95 acres ploughable; free from noxious weeds. Watered by the Ngakoaohia Stream.
Section 8: Approximately 85 acres ploughable; free from noxious weeds. Watered by springs and Ngakoaohia Stream.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Pirongia Survey District—Maungakiekie Block.
Section 6, Block XI: Area, 206 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £180. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £5 10s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 6s. 6d.
This section is situated on the Mangaiti Road, four miles from Puketotara Post-office, seven miles from Pirongia School, and fifteen miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station. The land is undulating and in its natural state, being covered with fern and tutu. The soil is a light to medium loam resting on sandstone and clay formation. It is considered that the section will make a good dairy farm when developed. Approximately 160 acres ploughable. Free from noxious weeds. Well watered by running streams.

Appointment of Member of the Native Trust Office Board.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 11 of the Native Trustee Act, 1930, and of every other power and authority in that behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
John William Macdonald, Esquire, C.M.G.,
the Public Trustee of the said Dominion of New Zealand, to be a member of the Native Trust Office Board for a period of two years.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 3rd day of March, 1931.

Appointment of Chairman, Government Railways Appeal Board.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Government Railways Amendment Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint John George Lewis Hewitt, of Marton, Stipendiary Magistrate, to be a member of the Government Railways Appeal Board and to be the Chairman of the said Board.
To hold office as from the date hereof for a period of one year unless the appointment be sooner revoked.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of March, 1931.

Appointing a Member of the Havelock Harbour Board.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection three of section thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of a non-elective member of a Harbour Board, the Governor-General shall, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:
And whereas Edgar Howard Smith, a non-elective member of the Havelock Harbour Board, has resigned his office, and an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board has been created, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person in his place:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint Norman William Naylor to be a member of the Havelock Harbour Board in the place of the said Edgar Howard Smith, resigned.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 10th day of March, 1931.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
