Loaded with £100, for matai dwelling of four rooms (brick chimney, iron roof), two 400-gallon tanks.
Situated on Sturges Road, between Henderson and Swanson. Access from Henderson by formed metalled road two miles and three-quarters. Section is steep to broken in hakea, manuka, and fern. About half is ploughable. Soil is clay on sandstone with good loam in the gullies. Well watered by springs and small stream. Elevation, 150 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. Dwelling of four rooms.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Mangonui County.—Takahue Survey District.
Sections 8, 9, 19, 20, and 21, Block X: Area, 298 acres 2 roods 18 perches. Capital value, £180. Half-yearly rent, £3 12s.
Weighted with £380, for improvements consisting of 60 acres pasture, internal fencing, boundary-fencing, cow-shed, and dwelling. Loading may be paid for in cash or secured to the State Advances Department by mortgage for thirty years, bearing interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum. Costs of preparation and registration of the mortgage are payable by the selector.
Section is situated nine miles from Kaitaia, four miles is metalled and the balance is partly formed clay-road. Two miles and a half from Diggers Valley Post-office and four miles and a half to Takahue School. Two miles from cream-stand. Easy undulating to flat. Flat comprises about 60 acres. Sixty acres has been ploughed and grassed, and balance is in fern and tea-tree, with small patch of bush. Well watered. Soil is on clay on sandstone. Elevation, from 100 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level.
Bay of Islands County.—Motatau Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.)
Section 4, Block XIII: Area, 518 acres. Capital value, £520. Half-yearly rent, £10 8s.
Exemption from rent will be granted for two years on condition that improvements to double the value of annual rent are effected each year.
Situated about eighteen miles from Kaikohe Railway-station by road which has been formed. Soil is very fair clay on sandstone formation. Well watered by several permanent streams. The bush comprises totara, rimu, puriri, rata, and taraire, with heavy undergrowth of kariau, nikau, punga, &c. Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. About 300 acres bush; balance burnt bush, tall manuka, and fern. Flat, undulating to hilly country.

Opening Lands in the North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
The block is situated on the Whangaroa-Mangonui Main Highway from eight to ten miles from Mangonui and same distance from Kaeo. Schools at Oruawaiti and Saies, three miles distant. Cream-cart delivers to factory at Kaeo. Soil on all sections is friable clay resting on a standstone formation.
Sections 5, 16, and 17: Easy undulating, practically all ploughable, covered in fern, tea-tree scrub, hakea, &c. Permanently watered in front, poorly watered at back. Elevation, 250 ft to 350 ft. above sea-level. Improvements included in capital value comprise 18 chains road-fencing on Sections 16 and 17.
Sections 6, 18, and 19: Easy undulating, practically all ploughable except in gullies. Covered in fern and tea-tree, and some hakea. Permanently watered in front but poorly watered at back. Elevation, 250 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level.
Section 7: Easy undulating, all ploughable, with northerly aspect. Covered in short scrub, fern, and hakea. Well watered in front but poorly at back. Elevation, 250 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level.
Section 8: All easy undulating country. From 50 to 60 acres not ploughable. Covered in short scrub, hakea, &c. Well watered by running streams. Elevation, 300 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.
Section 9: Easy undulating country, all ploughable, covered in short scrub, hakea, &c. Permanent water. Elevation, 300 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.
Section 10: Has a fair proportion of flat; balance easy undulating. Practically all ploughable except portions falling into gullies. Covered in short scrub, hakea, &c. Well watered by running streams. Elevation, 200 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level.
Section 12: Easy undulating to steep country. About 100 acres is easily ploughable. Covered in fern, scrub, and hakea. Well watered by swampy streams. Elevation, 350 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Otorohanga County.—Pukemapou Settlement.
SECTION 11s: Area, 145 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £450. Half-yearly rent, £22 10s.
Section 12s: Area, 146 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £720. Half-yearly rent, £36.
Dairying property, situated eleven miles from Te Awamutu Post-office, railway-station, and saleyards by a metalled road, and two miles and a half from Ngahape School. Section 11 comprises 100 acres swamp land in raupo and 45½ acres dry land in natural state—fern and manuka. Section 12 comprises 15 acres in fair pasture, 70 acres swamp land in raupo, and 61 acres dry land in natural state—fern and manuka.
Improvements as follows, valued at £52, have been included in the capital value of Section 12s: 15 acres broken from natural state and grassed, £45; 7 chains boundary-fencing, £7. Work is at present progressing on the provision of drainage for the swamp areas.
