Confirmation of Appointment in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand Division).

Notice to Imprestees under the Public Revenues Act, 1926.

The Treasury,
Wellington, 19th February, 1931.

EVERY officer holding advances of public money is hereby required to pay to the Public Account, at the nearest branch of the Bank of New Zealand, the unexpended balance of his account on or before TUESDAY, the 31st MARCH proximo, and forthwith to transmit to the Treasury at Wellington the bank receipt for such repayment, together with an account of his expenditure to the same date, as required by clause 88 of the Treasury Regulations.

With regard to disbursements which officers may require to make immediately after the close of the financial year, requisitions for the amount required are to be made in such time as to enable them to reach Wellington not later than the 16th March, so that the requisite funds may be placed at the disposal of the officer as soon after the 1st April as possible. Imprestees are further notified that telegraphic advice of remittances will not be sent. They will therefore require to ascertain from the bank if their imprest accounts have been replenished.

Hauraki Plains Rating District Penalty on Overdue Rates.

Wellington, 12th February, 1931.

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, the ratepayers within the district constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1931, unpaid on 30th March, 1931.

Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Post-office Box 1659, Auckland.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Minister of Lands, it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Newlands Extension No. 1, affecting part Section 12, Harbour Registration District, in Block XII, Belmont Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Maddison Road shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft.

Now, therefore, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the lay-off of such road of a width of not less than 50 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Wellington Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 2nd day of March, 1931, to the 30th day of April, 1931 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in those portions of the Wellington Acclimatization District described in the First Schedule hereto, for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-deer stags and hinds—subject to the following conditions.


CONDITIONS.

  1. LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds may be issued by the Secretary of the Wellington Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £1, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  2. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  3. Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, nor shall authorize the holder thereof to enter upon any State forest for the purpose of taking or killing red-deer stags or hinds without the express written permission of the Conservator of Forests, Palmerston North, first had and obtained.

  4. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing from Pahautanui; thence in a northerly direction on the main road to Paekakariki; thence following the railway-line to the bridge crossing the Manawatu River at Longburn; thence following the south-east bank of the Manawatu River to the west side of the Manawatu Gorge; thence following the south bank of the Manawatu River to Ngaparuru Bridge; thence following the Woodville–Wellington railway-line south to Featherston; thence following the main highway from Featherston to Trentham; thence following the Moonshine Road to Pahautanui, the point of commencement.

Mangaraki, Puketoi Block: All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at Martinborough; thence in an easterly direction along the Martinborough–Hinakura Road to Hinakura; thence in an easterly direction along the north bank of the Pahaoa River to the
