Opening Lands in the Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Friday, the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do hereby declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Otorohanga County.—Wharepapa Survey District.

Titoki Block.—Native Land Settlement Account.

SECTION 4, Block VIII : Area, 153 acres 0 roods 10 perches. Capital value, £235. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £7 6s. 3d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £5 17s. 6d.

Section 6, Block VIII : Area, 192 acres 2 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £290. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £8 18s. 9d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £7 5s.

Section 24, Block VIII : Area, 163 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Capital value, £230. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £7 3s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £5 15s.

These sections are situated twelve miles from Pukeatua Post-office, three miles from Arohene School, and thirty-two miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station, by a metalled road for eighteen miles and balance clay-road. The land is in natural state, in standing bush and open country. It is considered that it will be suitable for dairying and grazing when developed. The sections are undulating to hilly, the soil being a medium loam, resting on rhyolite and clay formation.

Section 4 comprises 45 acres in standing bush ; 108 acres open country in fern, tutu, and manuka.

Section 6 comprises 100 acres in standing bush ; 92 acres open country in fern, tutu, and manuka.

Section 24 comprises 100 acres in standing bush and 63 acres in open country in fern, tutu, and manuka.

Special condition.--The successful applicants will have no right to sell or dispose of timber without first having obtained the consent of the Land Board, Auckland, which may impose such conditions as are considered expedient.

NOTE.--These sections have been classified as undeveloped lands.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Titoki Block.—Native Land Settlement Account.

Section 16, Block VIII : Area, 256 acres 2 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £190. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £5 17s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £4 15s.

This section is situated twelve miles from Pukeatua Post-office, three miles from Arohena School, and thirty-two miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station, by a metalled road for eighteen miles and balance clay-road. The land is in a natural state, 227 acres being in standing bush and the balance open country in fern, tutu, and manuka. Appointment of Officers for the Purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section two of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Frank Rogers Ebbett, Constable, and
Langley Howard Shearman, Constable,

officers for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908.

Amended Declaration as to Notifiable Infectious Disease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Health Act, 1920, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend the notice dated the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, and published in the Gazette of the third day of March in the same year, declaring certain infectious diseases to be notifiable infectious diseases within the meaning of the said Act, by deleting therefrom the words “acute primary pneumonia.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 4th day of February, 1931.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1917, as amended by section fourteen of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf me enabling, I, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby appoint you, the said William McLean Barr,

to be an Assistant Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, with all the powers, privileges, and duties appertaining thereto, to hold office as on and from the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, during the pleasure of the Governor-General in Council.
